The ASPCA documentary, Second Chance Dogs is now available on Netflix!

Second Chance Dogs takes viewers behind-the-scenes at the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center and follows the stories of six extremely fearful dogs who were rescued from a life of cruelty and given a second chance for a happy, loving life.

The documentary, which originally aired on Animal Planet in the Spring of 2016, introduces us to several dogs over the course of six months, including dachshunds and Alaskan malamutes. Watch as they learn to be handled by humans, walk on a leash, engage in play, and, quite frankly, learn what love is all about.

What is the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center?

Launched in March 2013, the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center located in Madison, New Jersey, is the first and only facility dedicated to rehabilitating dogs suffering from severe fear due to puppy mills, hoarding, and other cruelty.

Dogs who are admitted to the center undergo an intensive rehabilitation regimen with the ultimate goal of improving their well-being and helping them become suitable for adoption. Graduates of the program are transferred to ASPCA-partner shelters for placement.

Since opening in 2013, the center has worked with more than 300 dogs from various backgrounds, many of whom have already been adopted across the country.
