FO Friday

TGIF! Are you as ready for the weekend as I am? The season premiere of 24 is Sunday night and I can. not. wait. Jack's back and he brought along Freddie Prinze Jr! I plan on settling in Sunday night with my favorite snack as of late...

Hot chocolate and Trader Joe's Candy Cane Joe-Joe's! I'm not sure if they are only around for Christmas or if Trader Joe's got smart and stocks them all winter... but if you can find a box, grab them!!! mmm...

I'm hoping to get some knitting done this weekend too, especially since there really hasn't been much of it going on lately. I have a FO report from a few weeks ago... another cross-stitch scarf, which is a Christmas gift for a family member who we've yet to see to give it to. This has become my go-to scarf and it seems like I always have one on the needles for no-brainer knitting on the go or in front of the TV. Its a 2 row repeat that produces quite a lovely fabric...

If you Ravel-stock me, you'll see that I have plenty of WIPs, as always. I'd like to finish off my Alpaca Mitts soon and I've just picked up the Chevron blanket again.

With friends expecting a baby girl in a couple of months, I thought this would be the perfect gift. I had cast this on last April, then I think I got bored with it or else just got a raging case of startitis and tossed this aside in a pile... but now the needles are clicking again!

Almost Friday

Happy Doggy Day aka Little Friday as Chan would say! Zeus just says "Is it the weekend yet?"

The girls enjoyed having sick Mommy home from work at the beginning of the week. They didn't even seem to mind me sneezing on them from time to time...

When it came time for Mommy to get off the couch and back to the real world, the kids got back to their usual weekday breakfast treat routine... one right before I hop into the shower and one when I leave for work. Apparently Sophie wasn't having any of it... seems Princess would rather Mommy just stay home, even if that means she might not get two breakfast treats in the morning (she was moping on the couch when her siblings took this group shot)...

I will be participating in my first Brittany Rescue transport this weekend and am very excited to be helping out (especially now that our fostering is limited)! We'll be doing a leg with a 2 year old male brit who is traveling from his temporary foster home in TN to his NH foster home. Thanks to Dianne for getting me involved with this great transport team! We're looking forward to the day that we get to transport the same dog(s), but it won't be this trip.

Winter Classic part 3

Now, for the conclusion of the Winter Classic photo-heavy posts... the game!

The Bruins tied up the game late in the third period...

Denis Leary and Lenny Clarke came out to lead Fenway Faithful in the singing of "Sweet Caroline."

We couldn't have asked for a better game... and ending! The Bruins won 2 - 1 in Overtime!

Nothing like fireworks over Fenway to end a cold day...

What a great game experience...

After the game was over, the NHL did a ceremony announcing the USA Olympic Men's hockey team. Congratulations to our own Timmy Thomas!!!

Although I already posted it, I will again since I did spend $25 for it ... the "official" photo. Cool, huh?

Winter Classic part 1

After all was said and one, I'm left with 141 photos from the Winter Classic game! Facebook friends can find a bunch there, but I did promise to blog some, so here is part 1...

Mr. No-Other-Dogs-Touch-Me-When-I'm-On-The-Couch

Happy Doggy Day! That means it's finally Thursday... one step closer to the weekend and some much needed couch time with the pups! When we're hanging out watching TV with them, I usually end up with 1 or 2 on the loveseat, while Matt almost always has Tut laying with him on the couch. Normally Zeus won't even think about getting up unless there are no other dogs on the couch (he'd rather go lie on our bed or one of the dog beds). While he romps around with his brother and sisters all day, he has this thing about having his lounging/sleeping space (wonder where he gets that from?)...

However, Mr. No-Other-Dogs-Touch-Me-When-I'm-On-The-Couch has had a little change of heart lately...

This never happened before! Oh sure, we'd see 3 dogs curled up on one couch, but not with Zeus in the mix. I'm not sure if its the cold weather or the aging boy. If you look real close, you can see there was a pillow "divider" between he and Tut, but they are touching...

"Why is Mom taking pictures... we do this all the time!"

While the 3 stooges were enjoying the big couch, Sophie, the smallest dog of the house, managed to get the loveseat all to her self...

I tried to find some older shots of Zeus "sharing" a couch for comparison. Here he is with Lola back in April and giving his "why are they on my couch" look with Tut & Sophie last December.

That threesome lasted about a minute before this happened...

As you can clearly see, big guy typically likes his own couch, thank you very much... along with pillow and blankie (his Grammy made him this one), of course.
