Flying High with Zogoflex Air Dash Frisbee
Disclosure: Chewy sent a Zogoflex Air Dash toy to Lapdog Creations, free of charge, for review purposes. I was not compensated for this review and all opinions expressed are my own.
The Lapdogs are always excited when a Chewy box lands on our doorstep, but this month was extra special because our box had two items inside! We'll tell you about the second item next week, however, because today is all about the Zogoflex Air Dash Frisbee from West Paw!
This is not your average Frisbee by any means. In fact, Zogoflex Air Dash is pretty unique.
No, it's not meant to double as a funky picture frame, but how couldwe I resist?
One of the first things I noticed was the aerodynamic design, which is amazingly comfortable in my hand. It also makes Dash very easy to throw, and the center hole allows for a smooth, off the ground pickup and a stable, fast flight.
The durable outer shell surrounds a soft foam material on the inside, which results is an 8" round tough toy that won't hurt dogs' mouths... or human hands. It's so tough that it rates a 3 on West Paw's Durability Rating ("perfect strength for medium chewers"), but do remember Dash was designed for interactive and supervised play.
Dash isn't just for fun on land, however. It floats, which means you can take your game to the pool or beach and enjoy hours of fun in the water too. But it's not just your average pool toy either. Thanks to the lightweight, air-injected center, Dash floats higher, making it easy for swimming dogs to spot. If we ever go into Dock Dogs, this would be perfect!
While the Lapdogs weren't quite sure what to make of the Zogoflex Air Dash, their Mama loved it! Neither Tut or Sophie have ever shown much interest in any Frisbee, so it was no surprise that no matter how many times I tossed Dash, they just stood and looked at me as if to say "So, where's the treats Chewy sent?"
My hopes remain high for some quality Frisbee time with Penny, however. She loves playing fetch with her ball (or whatever toy you might want to toss around), so I'm hopeful that after some bonding time with Dash she'll catch on to the high flying game soon. The weather hasn't really allowed us to get outside to practice too much lately and Dash is not an inside tossing toy by any means.

Wordless Wednesday: Lightly Haunted
Happy last Wordless Wednesday of October... only four more weeks until Thanksgiving and eight until Christmas. Now that's scary...
The humans visited Haunted Overload (winner of ABC's The Great Halloween Fright Fight in 2014) last week on one of the "light" nights. I was anxious to really get to see the amazing scenes and creatures they create (you seriously need to stand next to one of these gigantic things to fully appreciate their size), so this worked out better than going on a regular scary night. We were able to take our time walking through, taking in all of the amazing scenes, but without any actors jumping out (which meant I had a chance to snap a few photos, although quality isn't the best from a very foggy forest). If you're into Halloween and are in New England, this is a must visit!
And on that note, Tut wanted everyone to know that these Zuke's Skinny Bakes are scarily good!!!

Did Someone Say Low-Fat Cake?
In case you missed it, Teutul celebrated birthday #12 on Sunday!
With my boy's recent pancreatitis diagnosis, we had to ensure his cake was low-fat, which meant I needed to contact the bakery we use to get information on the fat content of their recipes. As I had suspected, the Apple Oatmeal was very low in fat (sorry Tut, no more Cheeseburger cakes). We rounded it out with the yogurt icing and wahla...
Tut certainly doesn't seem to notice anything "low fat" about his cake (or his new Fromm kibble for that matter, which we'll be telling you all about soon).
He got a Knottie Moose HuggleHounds toy as well, but was clearly more interested in the cake than some squeaky orange herbivore.
It's hard to believe that my baby boy is now the senior Lapdog... and he's 12 years old! Time flies by much too quickly when it comes to our furkids already short lives.
Tut goes to see Dr. C for his annual check-up next week and I look forward to speaking with her more in depth about his pancreatitis diagnosis. I have some questions, and while I can research the disease online until I drive myself crazy, I'd much prefer to get some clear, concise answers first. After all the dog issues we've faced within our pack over the past few years (including megaesophagus, autoimmune issues, vestibular disease, soft tissue sarcoma, allergies, skin issues, and bone cancer), I suppose I will become well-informed on yet another.
Here's to many, many more birthdays - and many more years of being annoyed by his pesky little sisters - for my boy!

Not-So-Scary Outtakes
There's not much scarier than another Monday sneaking up on us so fast, is there? And while these outtakes certainly are not scary at all, they are fun!
Since it was Penny's first Halloween, I wanted to get a little more creative with our Halloween card this year.
I even ordered an adorable Minion costume for her. I went down just one size from what was suggested for a Doberman, knowing she would not be full grown just yet. Of course, I was quickly reminded of why I'm not a big fan of full-piece, mass-produced pet costumes. While the body fit, it was a bit snug... yet the hat was way too big (it would have fit my Zeus!).
Ah well, she is still the cutest Minion I know. And, I am absolutely amazed that I was able to get Sophie to wear the witch hat for as long as I did.
I wonder if she took note of how much her little sister rocks it?
That is, when she's not rolling around, romping or playing with it on. Seriously, Penny seems to love her witch hat and will leave it on without any second thoughts.
Unlike Sophie, who shook it off at least half a dozen times during our photo shoot. Tut even wore the hat for a few pics, but quickly shook it off as soon as he got his treat.

Happy 12th Birthday Teutul
It's still hard to believe, but my baby boy is now the senior Lapdog and he's 12 years old!

Before we get further into our birthday photo recap, here's one for Black & White Sunday...
Although Tut went grey a long time ago, he's always been the perpetual puppy...
At least until that crazy little girl joined our family in May!
Tut loves both of his sisters, even if one does drive him a little batty from time to time.
My boy took it hard when he lost both his older sister and brother earlier this year. I know he misses Lola and Zeus very much, as we all do.
He loves his job as Senior Reviewer...
Tut has always been alittle mid-sized ham...
My boy appreciates hand-knits...
And sure loves to snuggle...
Does anyone else think Tut just might be related to Gene Simmons?
He loves the great outdoors and would do great glamping...
