Another Snowy Thursday

No, that picture isn't from today, but that's pretty much what it looks like outside. I really don't have anything to say today, so I'll leave it all about the furbabies on another snowy Dogs on Thursday. The kids are proud to announce they got their Valentine's out this icky, icey, snowy mix morning for the swap. Too bad Mommy didn't remember to take some pictures of them stuffing envelopes!

Here's Sophie modeling this cute little bandana I found in our stash. I ordered her a comfy new harness from Planet Dog, but under-guessed her quickly growing size, so we sent that off for an exchange this morning too.

She's definitely my little snow bunny now, despite her intial hesitation...

Not only will the Patriots make history by winning today, it will mean even more to go 19 and 0 in honor of #91. The numbers 9 and 1 have been of great significance in the Pats season this year...

We lost a player, Marquise Hill #91 in May 2007 in a jet skiing accident. Hence why the Pats players all wear a 91 emblem on their helmets (and sometimes jerseys also)...
We opened the season with a 91 yard, 12 play drive against the evil empire Jets...
We're ready to make it a 19 and 0 perfect season!!!

Yes, its Superbowl Sunday... time to watch the game and knit away!

Dog Senses Danger!

The kids wanted to share a little Friday humor with you that we got in email from their buddy Willy's Mom in SC (no, that's not Willy in the picture, not sure where this one originated)...

Have you ever heard that a dog 'knows' when an earthquake is about to hit?

Have you ever heard that a dog can 'sense' when a tornado is stirring up, even twenty miles away?

Do you remember hearing that, before the December tsunami struck Southeast Asia , dogs started running frantically away from the seashore, at breakneck speed?

Do you know that dogs can detect cancer and other serious illnesses and danger of fire?

Somehow they always know when they can 'go for a ride' before you even ask and how do those dogs and cats get home from hundreds of miles away?

I'm a firm believer that animals - and especially dogs - have keen insights into the Truth.

And you can't tell me that dogs can't sense a potentially terrible disaster well in advance.

Simply said, a good ol' hound dog just KNOWS when something isn't right when impending doom is upon us. See an example below…………..

My Dog, The Great Inventor

It is once again Dogs on Thursday, and perhaps more importantly, one day away from Friday! Its been much too long of a work week, or week for that matter.... a wake (Melissa's Dad), hair appointment (for which I drive an hour each way) and sick-dog-sleepless-night later... I'm very excited that the weekend is almost here! I missed my knitting night last night in order to get my hair done and can use some time with the needles.

So, back to the fact that its DOT. Now, if you're a doggy parent you know about our saving grace kongs. Those wonderful red inventions that can keep our furbabies happy for hours at least a good 10 minutes when we stuff them full of peanut butter (note to self... remember to stuff and freeze them before handing them over to the furry ones... I hear they last much longer that way).... What does one genius crafty creative lazy dog do when she decides she's too much of a princess to hold hers? Lola will glady show you... (as always, click on their names for more new pics!)

We're not quite sure how it happened, but one rubber tire toy plus one peanut butter stuffed kong made for a happy and content girly girl. I wonder if we could patent her invention??? When asked "how'd ya do that?" she just looked up in between licks as if to say "I'm smarter than you think..."

She also says "I'm beautiful... dontcha think?"
