A Gentle Giant

Happy Wordless Wednesday!  Life has been keeping me super-crazy-insane-busy and as a result, I was a little behind in blogland.  Last night when I sat down to catch up on reading, I quickly found myself wiping away tears as I read of a dear 4-legged friend's passing over the Rainbow Bridge.  The Lapdogs and I never met Thor in person, but everyone in blogland loved him as if he were an old friend. 
We'll miss you big guy... a true gentle giant.

Ten on Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, Happy September.  Can you believe I just said September?  I can't... and on top of that, once again I'm sitting here realizing Christmas is coming (stop denying it... it only makes it worse, trust me!) and I've only completed one of the many gifts I had planned to knit by the end of summer.  What about you?  Today's Ten on Tuesday topic is rather fitting, Things I Want to Knit this Fall/Winter...

1. I must complete my alpaca Nalu Mitts for fall.  Started in November 2009 and tossed aside forever, I started working on them again last week... they will be a staple in my fall wardrobe! 

2. Finish Twisted Toque, for my nephew for Christmas...

3. A warm, cozy scarf for ______ for Christmas (too many of you read my blog, so there will be no naming names here!).

4. A warm, cozy (but still stylish) hat for ________ for Christmas.

5. Fingerless gloves for _______ for Christmas.

6. Finish my Montego Bay scarf in Meditation.  Yet another project I tossed aside ages ago.

7. Finish the Chevron Blanket that I started for one baby who grew faster than I knit, then marked it for another who surprisingly did the same... eventually it will be complete and there will be a baby ready for it!

8. Baltic Mittens (a Peace Fleece pattern) .... beautiful color work that I can't wait to tackle! 

9. Bulky Cabled Leg Warmers ... I bought the yarn last year, but never got them cast on before Spring arrived.  These will be super cute with jeans and boots this winter!

10. (finally) My first adult size sweater... for me.  I have several patterns that I've picked out over the past few years... and the yarn already purchased. 

Bunny Watching 101

Happy Dogs on Thursday!  Today, we have a special lesson in Bunny Watching, brought to you by Professors Zeus and Sophie.

Step 1:  When you hear those pesky little feet on the move outside, immediately procede to the nearest window to get a look.  Ignore the humans who can never figure out how you could possibly hear a bunny on the move outside.  They just don't get it...

Step 2: Always go in for a closer look... and bark.  You must bark.  Once again, ignore the humans who tell you to shhh and be quiet.  They just don't get it...

Step 3: Confirm the target in your sights.  Once you have confirmed that it is indeed a 4-legged, hippity, hoppity, pesky bunny out there, bark... loudly.  Again, ignore the humans.

We've Got The Power!

Happy Worldess Wednesday... I'm happy to announce that I am among the living and with power once again!  woot, woot!!!  And hey, guess what?  It's football season!!!
