Pitch or Skip?

I'm playing catch up with photos over here and boy do I have a gazillion quite a few adorable doggy shots to share.  Today it's all about Pitch (formerly known as Bentley) who was here at the Lapdog B&B for a couple weeks back in August.  Are you ready for some pouty cuteness?

Speaking of forever homes, Skipper's Mom has been sending me some absolutely adorable shots of the big boy.  And yes, he is getting big (if you click on his name you'll see via the puppy pics)!  The shot below on the left is from around Thanksgiving and the one on the right from December.  His Mom says he loves fire and always claims the front row near the woodstove or fireplace!

And here is Skipper in front of the Christmas tree and then enjoying a post Christmas vacation day on Plum Island.  Look how big he's gotten (did you scroll back to his puppy pics? here he is even tinier)!  Awww, love that boy!

It really does mean the world to me to get a photo and update in email or text from our fosters' forever families and Skipper's Mom always seems to know just when I need a little pick me up!

Speaking of special foster babies, I'll post some more pictures of Harper shortly.  We went to visit her on New Year's Eve, which was wonderful!  We all became so attached to her and vice-versa and it was great to visit her and see how much she is spoiled loved!  She got all wiggly and super excited when we got there and had tuns of puppy kisses for us... then she acted like a little kid showing us everything she has learned (stairs, running on the hardwood floors, zipping around the couch) and all around her new digs. 

Pouty Pitch

Foster update!  Our perpetual pouty puppy Bentley has been renamed Pitch.  His Mom recently sent some new photos (the best thing about fostering!) and it looks like the little bugger has been making friends at the beach...

I can already see how much Ben, err, I mean Pitch has grown!  Here he is enjoying some fine New England seaweed...

After playing hard at the beach, it looks like he goes home and takes right after his Lapdog foster brothers and sisters...

I've got a bunch of photos of little Rosie to download from her week long visit back with us and will have another foster update as soon as I hire an assistant shortly.

What Day is it Anyway?

Happy Saturday!  The new job, Matt's racing (plus a band gig) and life has kept me quite busy these past two weeks and I've been left to ask "what day is it?" several times... so while I have a few spare moments, I figured I'd get in one of those rare Saturday posts.  As I type, this little girl is sleeping on the laptop next to me...

Yup, that's little miss Rosie!  She arrived this morning for a week long stay at the Lapdog B&B.  We are so excited to have her staying with us and I have to say, it's almost like she never left!  As soon as she got out of the car, she was wagging her tail like crazy and jumping all over us... then as soon as she saw her foster siblings, she was wagging even more and giving them all kisses.  Have I mentioned how much we love this tiny tyke lately?

Speaking of our foster children, I got my first photo of Bentley from his new mom. It looks like he's loving sticks in Massachusetts just as much as he loved sticks here in New Hampshire!  It makes me so happy to see him "smiling" because he did not want to leave with his new Mom.  He broke my heart when he put on all four paw-breaks and didn't want to go with her or get in the car.  sigh..... but I know he's in a good home!

SuperBen (aka Bentley)

As you know, we've had another adorable foster baby at the Lapdog B & B for a couple of weeks.  Meet Bentley, aka SuperBen!  During his stay with us he has learned so much, including how to jump from one couch to another, with ears straight out, flying like Superman!  In I tap my shoulders and call his name, he'll come flying into my lap.

 

He was originally listed as a wired haired terrier/pug mix, but that's obviously not the case.  He was found in a bucket by a river in TN with his litter mates, and while a few of them had the wired hair, Ben and at least one other did not.  He's got that really smooth, shiny coat like Lola has and luckily, like hers, it dries pretty fast because he thought the cooler (with left over melted ice water) was a pool...

 

We're 99% confident the little guy is a Boxer/Pug/Lab/something mix... just look at his perpetual pouty lips and long, lanky legs. He's also quite the little cuddle bug. He & I spent part of his second day here being lazy while Matt was in Maine fixing his race car... 

I'm actually pre-typing this post on Sunday evening to set for auto-post this week and suspect that by the time you read this, Bentley will be in his forever home in Massachusetts.  I spoke with his new Mama on Thursday night and it sounded like a perfect match, but she was away on vacation through the weekend, so the plan is for her to pick him up on Monday. 

At 16 weeks old, Ben is a bundle of energy and has been keeping all of the kids us on our toes.  He's been wrestling with whoever has the energy and when they don't, he's happily amusing himself with toys.  I'm thinking our spoiled brats kids' toys were the first he's ever really seen, as after being rescued he spent his time boarded at a vet's office because they didn't have a foster home available down South...

Ben took a big liking to following Zeus around outside whenever possible.  I'm not sure Zeus was too amused by his new little shadow, but they did bond over sticks...

 

He definitely knows his name , even when I call him Ben or Ben-Ben, so hopefully his new Mama doesn't want to change it!
