Casey Jones Bones Make Everything Better

Monday, already?  It seems the weekends fly by faster and faster every week.

The Lapdogs were not very pleased with the mischief their humans got into this weekend.  We left them home alone on Friday evening, then again on Saturday.

#8 Hooligan Motorsports US Legends Car at The Racers Expo

In our defense, it was for a good cause.  We were displaying the race car and manning the NELCAR booth at The Racer's Expo.  We met a lot of new people, saw many old faces and had a great time with our racing family.

And yes, we were handed out lots of samples of Casey Jones Bones.  They truly are the best sponsor ever, just ask Tut & Lola! All four of the Lapdogs would do anything for a CJB, especially the seasonal Wheat Free Cranberry Mint flavor.

Tut & Lola love Casey Jones Bones

They humans spent all day yesterday making up for their mischief with lots of snuggles, scratchies and yes, treats.  After all, a handful of Casey Jones Bones makes everything better.

Apparently, our human mischief was so taxing on the boys that they were even caught sharing a couch together.  Seriously, this happens next to never!

What mischief did you bring about this past weekend?

Turning Left at NHMS

Happy Wordless Wednesday!  The NELCAR Legends raced on the morning of the Sprint Cup race at NHMS last month.  The day before we displayed the Hooligan Motorsports #8 car at our sponsor, The Healthy Buffalo.

Our First Big Wreck

Happy Friday and Happy end-to-a-crazy-busy-hot-as-heck week!  I'm so glad the weekend is here!  My day job is changing as of August 1st, which has made for a hectic, stressful week and I expect at least the same for next week...  Matt wrecked the Legends car in the opening laps of last night's race, which means we will more than likely not be racing at NHMS tomorrow and have a busy repair weekend ahead of us.  I still have to get my photos uploaded, but in the meantime here are a few shots from Finish Line Photography...

The #8 was left with quite a bit of front end damage and as I mentioned, it means we won't be able to race at NHMS tomorrow (more about last weekend's big race on the morning of the NASCAR Cup race there later... need to get those photos uploaded as well!).  So guess what we decided to do.... here's a hint:

Need for Speed

Since it seems like life is in hyper-speed chaos right now and I do spend a majority of it at a race track lately, it's time for some more race photos (are you bored yet?)!

These shots are TNT (Thursday Night Thunder) at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Maine...

I know I said it before, but we're really loving being a part of the Amsoil NELCAR Legends Touring Series!  Matt is having a blast and we love our extended racing family.  Being a part of a touring series truly makes you a big family and you begin to look forward not only to racing, but seeing everyone at the track each week... sometimes twice per week (4 out of the next 6 we have two races per week)!  I've still only managed a few rows of knitting at the track this year, but that's ok, I'll get there... eventually?

I've got some fabulous shots from the Father's Day NHMS race, but I'll save those for another post.  For anyone attending this weekend's NASCAR races at NHMS, the guys will be racing at 9:40 am on Sunday morning before the Sprint Cup race -- don't miss it!

Cranking the Wheel

Happy Friday!  It's been raining here since Wednesday and it looks like it'll rain at least through tomorrow, but at least it's Friday, right?

Racing was rained out last night, but we've had a busy week as far as coverage goes.  Matt had two post-race interviews on Sunday after the race at NHMS and the results are in!  He made the front page of the Sports section of the Union Leader on Monday.  You might note that they mis-captioned the photo, as that is Matt posing with his car (not a motorcycle racer) and the "his girlfriend crew chief" tag I got.  The second interview was for a driver video profile on the NHMS website, which you can check out here.  It was his first on camera interview and he was caught a little off guard, but all in all I think it is a great feature!  And yes, he really did say - on camera mind you - that every time he thinks he doesn't want to race anymore, I convince him that he has to race MORE!!  I think he blew my cover a little bit with that one... oops.

I'll leave you with some more racing photos today.  These shots are from our first two trips to Unity Raceway in Maine.

We were back at Unity on June 4th and it was our first truly sunny race day of the season, albeit a tad bit dusty in the pit area...

So, are you bored with racing photos yet?  I hope not... but I do promise some knitting as soon as I find the mojo time!  We have quite a few reviews coming up too - both dog and knitting related.  This is the first weekend we haven't had a race or something to attend in a long time and what do we do?  Sign up to take in not one, but two foster pups!  Details (and of course photos) to come... Enjoy your weekend!

Turning Left AND Right

Happy Monday!  I'm a little sunburned and a lot tired after one busy weekend!  Photos from the Bruins Stanley Cup Championship parade, the Stone Zoo "A Wild Affair" fundraiser and yesterday's NELCAR road course race at NHMS to come as soon as I have twenty minutes to download them all soon...

In the meantime, check out Matt's first interview/article over on MaineRacing.com.  I couldn't be more proud that he included FOR dog rescue in the article!  The article, along with that little cup brought back home to Beantown last week, caught the attention of the folks at NHMS.  After they spoke with Chris, the guy who wrote it (he's also the official NELCAR photographer), to ask if they could use the article, they sent over not one, but two of their own reporters to interview Matt post-race; one written, one video.  While our Bruins paint scheme has gotten attention at every race, yesterday it was non-stop.  Matt signed his first autographs for fans and might have even spent more time talking hockey than racing.

Since I don't have this weekends photos downloaded yet, I'll use this as a catch-up opportunity.  These shots are from the first NHMS road course race on May 22nd.  It was Matt's first time doing a road course... and his first time racing in the rain.  The road course races are the only ones we do in the rain...
