Winter Classic part 1

After all was said and one, I'm left with 141 photos from the Winter Classic game! Facebook friends can find a bunch there, but I did promise to blog some, so here is part 1...

We actually had quite a good view of the rink from our seats (like racing, higher was better in this case). These were taken pre-game...

Mr. No-Other-Dogs-Touch-Me-When-I'm-On-The-Couch

Happy Doggy Day! That means it's finally Thursday... one step closer to the weekend and some much needed couch time with the pups! When we're hanging out watching TV with them, I usually end up with 1 or 2 on the loveseat, while Matt almost always has Tut laying with him on the couch. Normally Zeus won't even think about getting up unless there are no other dogs on the couch (he'd rather go lie on our bed or one of the dog beds). While he romps around with his brother and sisters all day, he has this thing about having his lounging/sleeping space (wonder where he gets that from?)...

However, Mr. No-Other-Dogs-Touch-Me-When-I'm-On-The-Couch has had a little change of heart lately...

This never happened before! Oh sure, we'd see 3 dogs curled up on one couch, but not with Zeus in the mix. I'm not sure if its the cold weather or the aging boy. If you look real close, you can see there was a pillow "divider" between he and Tut, but they are touching...

"Why is Mom taking pictures... we do this all the time!"

While the 3 stooges were enjoying the big couch, Sophie, the smallest dog of the house, managed to get the loveseat all to her self...

I tried to find some older shots of Zeus "sharing" a couch for comparison. Here he is with Lola back in April and giving his "why are they on my couch" look with Tut & Sophie last December.

That threesome lasted about a minute before this happened...

As you can clearly see, big guy typically likes his own couch, thank you very much... along with pillow and blankie (his Grammy made him this one), of course.

Crafty Friends Rock

I think just about anyone who reads this blog would agree... crafty friends rock and handmade gifts are truly the best! I'm fortunate enough to have several creative friends and family members in my circle and wanted to share a few recent presents...

This gorgeous handpainted Christmas ornament is from my friend Melanie. I absolutely love it... the colors are so pretty. Unfortunately, the pictures just don't do it justice, but you get the idea (and in case you're wondering, the cute Zeus bone is from Gaylen... two years ago she made them - and other awesome goodies - for my pack!)...

Many of you already know about Anita's fabulous creations and these yarn hank stitch markers are no exception. They were a wonderful Christmas surprise - I had been coveting them in her shop! She just updated her etsy shop... hurry!

Last, but not least, my Mom made this tea cup pin cushion for me for my birthday and I can't believe I forgot to blog it!!! Doesn't it just make you wanna grab a cuppa?

Baby its COLD outside

Happy 2010! Brrr... it sure has been a snowy and chilly weekend! One of my Christmas presents is being installed today... an automatic starter for my SUV! Woo Hoo (thanks honey)!!! Now, of course, this either means I'm going to be a very happy camper for the rest of the winter (well as happy as I can be to not have to go outside to start the car) or it means its going to warm up fast.... I'm leaning towards being a somewhat happy camper.

The Winter Classic game was awesome!!!! COLD, but such an awesome experience... and my B's won in overtime, which made it even cooler. I need to download all of the pictures I took, but in the meantime here is the "official" Winter Classic photo...

As for knitting, I finished off the last Christmas gift but still have to take photos of it (and wrap it... and hopefully deliver it this weekend). There hasn't been a whole lot of knitting going on lately, so here is a pic of my Trekking to Charlotte socks, which I wore on Christmas...

My Mom, who has knit and crochet for as long as I can remember, made her first pair of socks... and gave them to me!

The leg is crochet, foot is knit... cool, no? Thanks Mom! They're a little on the small side for me, but I'll still wear them for sure. I just had to remind her that my feet are bigger than hers...

Thanks again to my honey for the automatic starter... I think Tut thanks him too... he sure does hate a cold car!
