We've Got The Power!
I got a few messages yesterday from out-of-state friends checking in on us after they had seen the news of New Hampshire's latest multi-day power outage (especially those who knew of our 9 day ordeal in December '08). While some of our state remains in the dark today, I am more than happy to say we were only without life's essentials (heat, running water, flushing toilet) for 22 hours this time. One wouldn't think rain and wind would cause as much damage as the ice storm of '08, however it appears that all day torrential rains combined with 50 - 60 mph winds make for far worse destruction. Instead of lots of scattered tree limbs, we're seeing full trees down all over. My drive to work on Friday was quite the adventure (sorry, no pics)... dodging downed trees, impromptu lakes and several detours, not to mention playing a game of Frogger just to get through the intersections (no power = no working traffic lights).
Here are some pics of the kids from Friday afternoon... Zeus "I canz noooottttt takez 'nother 9 dayz of dis crapzzzz... get mez da powwwerrr!"
Tut "Hangz tuff brutha...we can makz it!"
Lola "Mom, Mom, Mommy, Mom, Mama, MOM... LOOKZ... a power truck... dere it goezzz..."
Sophie "Didz deyz fixit??? I's not looking til itz fixzd... "

Your dogs always looked so relaxed. What a nice life!
Love the photos! Glad you're back in the modern world.
We're so glad you got your power back and are warm again. Hold on, it's March so spring must be n the way.
Love the photos! I'm so glad you got your power back on... what a mess!
Zeus has the right idea: sleep on the couch with blankets until it gets warmer.
Forgot about the problem of flushing the toilet with downed power lines. Not-good. But glad you're back in power land :).
Love the pics, especially Lola's caption. Cracked me up ;).
Only 22 hours? Geez. That seems like forever when you have no power. Sophie is a smart one--squeeze those eyes shut and pretend it isn't happening!
Glad your back at it!
lol Love the doggy commentary.
