ASPCA Celebrates 150 Years with #ASPCA150 Days of Rescue + GIVEAWAY

Disclosure: ASPCA sent some promotional products to Lapdog Creations, free of charge, in exchange for me helping to spread the word about 150 Days of Rescue. I was not compensated for this post and all opinions expressed are my own. ASPCA has provided the giveaway prize.

Did you hear? The ASPCA just celebrated it's 150th Anniversary last month!

In honor of this important milestone, the ASPCA has launched 150 Days of Rescue, a national campaign seeking to unite the country in making a difference in the lives of homeless and abused animals.

Animal lovers are encouraged to visit ASPCA.org/150days and pledge their time between April 10 and September 7 to help animals in need, with the goal of reaching 150,000 actions for animals in 150 days.

What You Can Do

Plus, animal lovers who log their good deed will also be given the opportunity to nominate their favorite animal shelter to receive a grant prize of $150,000!

We are huge advocates for animal rescue and welfare, and have been supporting the ASPCA for many years. I have been involved in dog rescue for nearly 10 years, doing everything from fundraising and marketing to application processing and transporting dogs. We have also fostered and helped to find forever homes for many dogs, including two you might recognize.

Teutul & Sophie are both proud #RescueDogs and wish a Happy 150th Anniversary to the ASPCA! #ASPCA150 #RescueDog #SeniorDogs #AdoptDontShop #LapdogCreations ©LapdogCreations

Teutul was our first attempt at fostering, and quickly became our first "foster failure." Sophie came along a few years later and never left. I like to say she chose us.

Prior to fostering, we adopted Lola who has since crossed the Bridge. And a year ago, we adopted Penny.

Penny Wishes the #ASPCA a Happy 150th and Wants to Remind You to #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #RescuedPuppy #DobermanMix #LapdogCreations ©LapdogCreations

You can say that I've already crossed many of the items off of my personal "What You Can Do" list, but that won't stop me from doing more!

Great post and tips on what you can do to get involved. I can cross a lot of those off my to do list! I also love the idea of logging your good deeds and then being able to nominate your favorite shelter.

they are all lovely dogs. We usually make all our donations to our local shelter, the liberty humane society but I often have a fundraiser at my school for the ASPCA that hte students organize and last year we raised several hundred dollars

We've done rescue for years. This week we're putting together a box of supplies for our favorite shelter, CARE, here in Springfield. I also use leftover yarn to knit blankets for shelter dogs and cats.

Five years ago I went into a local shelter to adopt a puppy, who has since become my snuggle buddy and protector. I have already vowed to go for adoption first if we get another dog. Twice a year a special craft fair is held locally where we drop off donations, buy raffle tickets, or donate money. My pets are spayed and neutered so that I won't be the cause of any homeless animals. My dream is to adopt all the older dogs from the shelters so they can live in the green grass and know what freedom is before it's too late.

I'm trying to organize a group volunteer day at the humane society here!

I help by sharing dogs and cats in need of homes on social media and my blog.

This is great - will share. I wrote a book, Rescue Me, as an awareness and fundraiser for shelter pets, and a free ecourse about how to help animals in need. Both are available on my blog, along with some volunteering. We've also fostered (that's how we adopted Ted - I know, I know - foster failure!)

I do help with dogs at the local shelters and by networking dogs in need. I am afraid I am a dog magnet here for unwanted dogs (I have 7 now) each abandoned for one reason or another. It is a cruel world and I want to help in anyway I can.

Great post! We volunteer at our local shelter and donate as well, when we can.

We support the ASPCA, too. And our mom volunteers at our local shelter...and with a local rescue group.

I've been a little more involved with one of our local shelters. When I retire, I'm considering doing some volunteer work.

I set up Auction4PetSupplies.com so that everyone can list unwanted pet related items they have lying around the house, or rescue organizations can hold on line auctions there go - profits go to the Rescues

I have done a lot of stuff on that list, too. I can't currently foster in my situation, but I would really love to someday!

What a fantastic giveaway to bring awareness to ASPCA. Our family volunteers with several rescue groups, we donate, and are a foster family. Of course, we always adopt.

What a great post and campaign. I try to help through our TV series and social media educating people and promoting adoptable dogs and rescue organizations. I also attend fundraisers, organize events, donate $ and products and of course, I have my failed foster Kilo the Pug. We are actually working on a new TV series to help even more dogs, so fingers crossed.

I try to share adoptable dogs on social media and feature some on my blog. I used to be a dog walker at a local shelter but stopped after I broke my arm. Now that I'm healed, I need to get back to that.

I have taken in many strays. I also just donated a signed Kevin Durant ball to be raffled off for a no kill shelter to provide items they need!

Oooo I love these goodies and I LOVE ASPCA! I've been involved in animal rescue for about 8 years. Volunteering at the shelter, community outreach and donation coordination is what I've mainly done. Of course all my babies are rescues!
