Loving Pets: Milano Bowl & Bella Spill-Proof Mat
Where to Find: Loving Pets
Some may say that a dog bowl is just a dog bowl, but I would disagree. Between my own pack and the countless fosters who've been through our home, it's safe to say we've been through our fair share of dog bowls over the years. Plastic of all shapes, sizes and colors, as well as stainless steel (including my Mom's old stainless salad bowl, which I turned into a giant outdoor water bowl... until it disappeared). I've bought expensive bowls. I've bought cheap bowls. And, I've accumulated many free bowls over the years as well (busy doggy rescuer Mom's never turn away free swag - we'll use it somewhere or send it home with our next foster).
The biggest things things I've learned over the years when it comes to dog bowls...
- No matter how "strong" the plastic looks, a puppy's teeth will get through it. Trust me.
- Stainless steel is your friend.
- Spill-proof is necessary.
- An easy-to-clean bowl will make your life more pleasant. (Having a dog that feels the need to give not only his bowl a pre-wash cycle, but to pre-wash all of his siblings' bowls helps as well)
I've also learned that there is always room for improvement when it comes to the good 'ole dog bowl. So, when I was asked to review a couple of items from Loving Pets, I happily obliged and we received a bowl from the Milano Collection, along with a Bella Spill-Proof mat.
"The Milano Collection of designer dog bowls offers beautiful full color designs along with the advantages of a stainless steel feeding dish – all at a very affordable price."
These bowls are currently available in three sizes - small, medium and large - and new designs are being added to the collection all the time. We received a large Bad to the Bone bowl for review and I absolutely adore it! I just can't get over how cute the pirate puppy dog and cross-bone motif is (Dear Loving Pets Peeps, us doggy Moms could really use this design on a coffee mug. Thanks!). I mean, seriously? But don't worry, if a pirate doggy isn't quite your thing, perhaps a Spoiled Leopard bowl or a World Traveler design is more up your alley?
Milano bowls are truly genius! Not only can you show off your dog's personality with a fun shell, you'll feel confident in knowing he's eating or drinking from an easy- to-clean stainless bowl. Oh, and did I mention how reasonably priced these bowls are? Small $7.49, Medium $9.99, Large $14.99.
In addition to a well functioning bowl, a mat is also a necessity for a busy doggy household. The Bella Spill-Proof Pet Mat features a raised lip to prevent splashes and retain spills, plus anti-skid feet to stop slipping and sliding. These BPA-free indoor/outdoor mats are currently available in 2 colors (black or tan) and 2 sizes (small and large). We received a large, black mat for review.
The bone-shaped mat is not only adorable, it's functional. The large mat can hold two bowls with bases up to 8 inches wide, which makes it a great size for our house. I appreciate that it's easy to clean - just rinse it off with water - and also durable.
If you're looking for a fun, functional dog bowl and mat, look no further than Loving Pets! They've got some adorable cat bowls as well.
Disclosure: Loving Pets Corporation sent the items above (Milano Bowl and Bella Mat) to Lapdog Creations, free of charge for review purposes. I was not compensated for this review and all opinions expressed are my own.

That's a way cool looking bowl. We use a sturdy ceramic bowl for the dogs, but I like the stainless.
Hey ! we got the same mat n bowl (a bit different design). LOVE bone shaped mat. Enjoy! Golden Woofs
That bowl is so cool! I saw something similar the other day and wondered if water/drool is able to seep through the two layers. We're a bit messy over here ;) We definitely need the spill proof mat!
Can I hear an "Amen, Sister!" to the need for stainless dog bowls! That bowl and mat are cute, especially the mat. We keep the stainless mixing bowl handy for water for visiting dogs. They all love it - toilet bowl quantities without the humans going bonkers over them drinking from the porcelain throne!
Love the mat! I agree; stainless is best, but I think you know the wee one won't eat from metal, so plastic or ceramic it is for her. She will drink from a metal bowl though, thankfully!
