Thankful for Great Friends - and Gorgeous Portraits

It's been a rough 2015.  While we have had our own hearts broken twice, heartache looks to be continuing all through out the blogging world. It seems as though we can't get through a week without learning of the passing of another beloved furbaby. The line at the Rainbow Bridge must be very long, to say the least.

I knew the 4th of July - Lola's birthday (if you missed my post, please do take a moment to read it... while hard to write, it was very cathartic) - was going to be a rough one this year. My emotions ran the gamut, from incredibly sad and heartbroken to just plain angry. There is simply no good reason why my baby girl shouldn't have been here to celebrate her 13th birthday. Cancer sucks. Thank you to all of those who thought of Lola and checked in on us. We are truly blessed to have so many who care(d) so much for my babies.

On that note, we are also quite thankful to have this crazy, beautiful, smart, funny little bundle of joy occupying much of our time these days.

And, of course these two lovable, goofy seniors.

I wanted to send a special shout out to our awesome friends over at Chewy, who always seem to know just when little pick-me-ups are needed. They surprised us late last week with a goodie box for Penny and her humans.

I adore that Sydney wrote the card to Penny... and noted the portrait was for her parents, but the treats and toys were for her. :::smile:::

Of course Penny totally loves her new toys and treats (so much so that the cute little pink elephant is now missing it's tail and half an ear), while her parents absolutely love her portrait!  It's beautiful and the detail is just amazing (original photo included so you can see just how amazing).

Thank you so much Chewy Family!  You have given us a beautiful start to our own little art gallery collection.  They will be cherished for many, many years to come.

What a marvelous kind act. I just started working with Sydney at Chewy last month. She seems nice but now I know she's an amazing friend too m

PepiSmartDog: your artwork is just beautiful! You are very fortunate to have such caring pals to create such beautiful work for you.
As a Rainbow Bridge Ambassador, I can tell you we all keep very busy, with all our clubs, but we never forget our loved family. We want you to be happy because we were happy when we were with you. We live on in your heart and you'll hear your loved pal whisper to you. You are not alone, they are always right next to you. We are now pain free and our body is refreshed and renewed. When you unexpectedly one day find yourself standing on the Rainbow Bridge, your pal will be there to meet you...but until them we keep them busy with all our fun stuff. You will be a forever family again...not just yet. @PepiSmartDog, Rainbow Bridge Ambassador. :=o)
Thank you for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop again and we hope to see you there this week too.
*waves paw* :=o)
