Not Completely Wordless Wednesday

Happy Wordless Wednesday... or rather, what has lately been Emma Wednesday around here! Just one question - is it really only Wednesday? This week has been so full of drama, it already seems much too long!

No matter how stupid stressful the drama is, I can't help but smile when she shows up in my inbox. Here is the first pic of Emma in her Umbilical Cord hat (still a bit big, but that just means more wear)...

I hear the princess has been doing great at home, and I just can't wait to see her again! She's 7 weeks old today...

Bunny Tails

Hey, look... she knits and she has a FO to report! The absolutely adorable Bunny Tail hat for Emma!

BunnyHat_bearB

This has got to be one of my favorite knits... ever. Its quick and easy, but the result is simply adorable! Here's a front and back view...

BunnyHat BunnyHat_back

Yarn is Crystal Palace Bunny Hop, which I loved working with and will call on again for sure! Needles were size 7, 16" Crystal Palace circs and size 7 Bryspun DPNs. I made the smallest size, however I think it'll probably be another month before until it fits Emma well. I can't wait to see it on her though!

Speaking of Emma, hats are still pouring in for round one of donations from Friends of Emma - Thank You! A button and Ravelry group are coming soon.... I'm just waiting on a particular picture that I'm hoping to use.

While you're hopping around on blogs today, head on over to visit Ally and enter her 200th post contest! Ally makes a really cool notions bag and she just so happens to be giving one away in a beauteous spring fabric, along with a skein of Tofutsies!

Rainy Easter Eve

Its another cold and rainy day here in Lapdog country. I had a bunch of things that were to be done today, but it has turned in to one lazy day. It's okay though, I think I'll get some knitting done. I finished off Emma's bunny tail hat last night, but need to tack the ears and add the tail.

BunnyHatIP

Obviously that pic was taken before ear #2 was knit last night, but you get the idea. This is the first time I've used Crystal Palace Bunny Hop and I absolutely love knitting with it!

Now that the bunny hat is finished, I think I'll get back to working on the Cuff Bootees for, of course, Emma.

SocksIP

I'm using Baby Cashmerino in the prettiest lilac as the main color and leftovers from her first hat as the contrast. I even got to use a pair of Mom's old metal needles that she gave me when I first took an interest in learning how to knit again...

In other knitting news, I've done a little stash enhancement lately... most of which has been super soft baby yarns for a certain little munchkin. However I finally splurged on myself and grabbed a skein of Jade Sapphire Mongolian Cashmere 4-ply last week. I had eyed this uber soft yarn at Yarn & Fiber a few times and when I stopped in to pick up preemie hats last week, well... I couldn't leave a yarn shop without buying something, right?

CashmereB

I think its going to either be one of the cowls or a scarf from the Luxury Yarns One Skein Wonders book....

My other stash enhancement isn't so exciting or unsual... some RY Cashsoft and All Seasons Cotton that was on clearance and some Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran for baby items. You can check my Ravelry stash if you really want to see them.

For those of you who've been knitting for the Friends of Emma (button and Ravelry group coming soon - thanks to Chan's suggestion!) donation of preemie/infant hats, the first delivery has been postponed (from today) due to Emma not being allowed to go "out and about" until later this month. So... Emma, her Mom and I will now plan to delivery round 1 on April 25th (which means there is still time to get in if you want). I'll leave you with a couple shots of the munchkin in her going home outfit from Tuesday...

Auntie loves that she's already showing her bad-arse-princess -baby-rocker sides... being dressed in her pretty frilly number and having a skull & crossbones next to her head!

Love That Dirty Water!

The Bruins game last night was awesome!

Bruins_Win_40909f

Even though I'm dragging today after more penalty minutes than I've ever seen in any one game, delays due to penalties & glass replacement and overtime... I couldn't be happier to see my B's defeat Montreal 5 - 4!

We had great seats... which allowed for some fun picture taking!

Anyone who knows hockey knows the long standing rivalry between Boston and Montreal and last night did not disappoint in the fighting factor. This is what 5 on 5 fighting kinda looks like (and we saw quite a bit of that last night)...

And in the end... we loved that dirty water Boston!

Lazy Spring Doggies

Doggy day is upon us once again and this was one of my weeks for posting over on Dogs on Thursday. Please check it out... April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month and tomorrow is the ASPCA's 143rd birthday. You can read a little bit about both in the DOT post. Also, you may have noticed I placed a new ASPCA fundraising banner at the top of my blog. If you are planning to become a member or renew your membership, would you please consider donating thru my banner? Last year I completed my goal of helping to raise $1,000 and thank everyone for their help in getting me there!

We are now three weeks into spring and I'm still wearing my winter sweaters. Its been cold and rainy here for the past week, so there hasn't been much going on outside. Instead, we have been very lazy have had fun inside... and you get a picture heavy post today!

Zeus {click linked names for more pics}, who'd love to be outside stalking watching his birdie friends, but when asked if he wanted to go out to see them... "Nah, I think I'll stay dry."

Sophie, aka the Princess, has become very annoying taken a very strong stand against going outside in the mud...

Teutul seems to have mastered the lazy days of spring rain...

Lola took a little offense to being called lazy, but her sister shows us the proof!
