Nana was a wise woman
1. It's cold and rainy... still.
2. In the summer, I love fresh from the garden tomatoes.
3. My favorite health and beauty product is Clinique All About Eyes cream.
4. Zeus loves to go for a nice long ride.
5. Well, first of all let me introduce myself... I am the crazy dog lady (even though we're not currently fostering, I'm sure I can find you the right match if you're looking to adopt!) who loves to knit, watch NASCAR (football & hockey too), enjoys traveling and good wine and comes from "the other Cape" - Cape Ann, Mass.
6. My (late)Nana and I; those were the cast of characters in a recent dream and it was her reminding me that you can't choose your family... and you can't please everyone, so please yourself.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to hanging out at home, tomorrow my plans include possibly going out to eat or maybe talking my other half into hooking up the new "beverage fridge" downstairs and Sunday, I want to see some racing... if its not raining!

REVIEW: Blue Dog Bakery
Where to Find: Blue Dog Bakery
The Lapdog kids had the opportunity to review some yummy dog treats from Blue Dog Bakery... and 16 paws up were officially given!
Blue Dog Bakery's Meaty Flavors were released earlier this year, much to the delight of canines across the country. These premium low fat dog treats feature an assortment of Natural Grilled Steak, Roasted Chicken, Liver and Beef & Bacon flavors - all of which are drool worthy! Your pooches will glady sit, stay, roll over or high-five for these animal shaped biscuits. They smell so delicious that some pooches can't even resist a closed box...
There are no animal by-products, no preservatives or additives, no artificial flavors or colors in Blue Dog Bakery's biscuits – just healthy and nutritious ingredients such as: unbleached wheat flour, whole wheat flour, cane molasses, whey, oats, palm oil, and non-fat milk. Different taste profiles which are derived from natural grilled steak, chicken, liver and beef and bacon flavors, ensure that dogs won't get tired of them. The crunchy biscuits are perfect for dogs of all sizes thanks to the assortment of large and small animal shapes.
In April, Blue Dog Bakery expanded its collection of premium dog treats with the launch of Small Snacks - Peanut Butter & Molasses. The healthy, new treats are great for small/medium dogs and puppies and are also perfect for training, since even the pickiest of dogs go nuts for Blue Dog Bakery's tail-wagging creations. Some go so nuts, they steal the box while their Mom is trying to photograph it...
Small Snacks - Peanut Butter & Molasses were another huge hit in the Lapdog household. They feature the same award-winning recipe as Blue Dog Bakery's original Peanut Butter & Molasses treats. For those of you still concerned about the peanut butter recall, rest assured that Blue Dog Bakery uses a proprietary peanut butter flavor that is made from peanuts, which are not a part of the recall in any way.
All of Blue Dog Bakery’s crunchy biscuits help maintain strong teeth and fresh breath and are also easily digested. They capitalize on two of the hottest trends in pet food – premium and natural – and offer health conscious consumers a low-fat alternative. I can honestly say that I feel good about feeding these treats to my dogs! Knowing that they just can't wait to get their paws on them helps too...
LENDING A PAW TO ANIMALS IN NEED
Beyond offering a healthier, low-fat and natural alternative to mainstream dog treats, Blue Dog Bakery is also committed to lending a paw to animal welfare. Each year the company helps over 900 animal rescue organizations across the country raise money to save abandoned dogs. "We have an automatic "yes" policy for any organization involved in animal rescue be it a large or small organization," says Kenly. "Our customers thank us for helping out and feel good about buying our products because of it," adds Kenly.
Concerned about chemical additives and animal by-products in other dog biscuits as well as the alarming increase in dog obesity, Margot Kenly left the gourmet food industry in 1998 to start Blue Dog Bakery. Their products can be fetched at hundreds of grocery, pet and natural food stores nationwide.
Lapdog Creations was provided Blue Dog Bakery treats free of charge, in exchange for review purposes. This post may contain affiliate links. If you click on one and make a purchase, I may receive a few pennies to help maintain the cost of this blog.

I Brought Killer Home
The humans have very reluctantly returned to work today, while the kids are at home sleeping. Oh how I wish I were the dog today (read: my "Some Days You're The Dog, Some Days You're the Hyrdrant" framed print is very fitting in the office today).
Stay tuned for vacation reports and pictures as soon as I have time to
This year I even got to bring Killer home with me!!!!!!! Well, sort of... see here.

Tulips, Maples and Robins... oh my!
These are from early this month...
A couple more from from earlier this week...
This is one of my favorites... I love the rain drops.
I've been continuing to document the robins this year and have some more photos to share.
May 7th ~ feathers are growing in...
May 8th ~ Yes, that's a 2nd nest with three more bright blue eggs that I found underneath the other side of the back deck!
May 11th ~ boy is that nest getting crowded!
May 12th ~ guess its a good thing there weren't four eggs!
May 13th ~ "I see you!"... the newer eggs still haven't hatched.
I just came in from a nest check... Although I haven't downloaded pics yet, I am happy to report there is the tiniest little chirp coming from the new nest, with one egg having just hatched. As for the original nest.... its empty!
Besides the tulips and robins, we have some all kinds of ahhh-chooo inducing things going on around here...
Maples...Apple trees... although they are not nearly as pretty this year as they have been in the past. I think some of them are dying...
I hope you have enjoyed my photography fun. Now, if you'll please excuse me while I mourn in silence for a little while...

Just Call Him Old Lady Zeus...
With that busy note... this doggy day is all about pictures! Enjoy...
Chan sent a package this week with hats for Friends of Emma and included some lovely goodies for me and the dogs. One of the goodies she surprised me with was Quant... for which Zeus {click linked names for more pics!} became a little old lady reluctant model...
Sophie and Teutul thought it was pretty cool... I think they could sniff out Chan's girls, Sissy & Gretchen!
Sophie practiced her modeling skills this week too when a friend gave her a Red Sox jersey...
Teutul decided he'd get in on the modeling this week too and put on his "I Wear Blue for my Grandma" shirt..
Tut was so proud of himself he even got in the way got in photos with Lola & Sophie...
Lola didn't have anything to model this week... instead she stole a box of Blue Dog Bakery cookies that came in for review, but we'll get to those later...
