Merrick Grain Free is Perfect for Your #BestDogEver + GIVEAWAY

Not every dog is created equal, and neither is every dog food.

Just like people, not all dogs have the same needs when it comes to proteins, calories and fat, and many have food sensitives or allergies. Fortunately, there are lots of options available, however sorting through all of the labels and nutrition information is time consuming, and often quite confusing.

Finding the perfect food for our dogs is a daunting task, but once you find the Best Food Ever for your dog, you'll quickly realize it was all worth it!

The Best Pet Ever Deserves The Best Food Ever. That's a powerful statement, and it's been Merrick Pet Care's philosophy for over 25 years.
Merrick, founded in 1988 by Garth Merrick and his family, has built their brand with a simple goal in mind - making the wholesome, nutritious recipes that pets deserve.
The innovative brand has grown and evolved over the years to include many recipes and special diets, making Merrick a leader in the pet food industry. Using only USDA-inspected deboned meat and fresh produce from trusted farmers, all of the recipes are still handcrafted in their Hereford, Texas kitchen where it all began 28 years ago.

Their award-winning Grain Free dry recipes were first introduced in 2004 with chicken, beef or buffalo as the first ingredient. In 2012, the "Real Food Revolution" was started and the Grain Free line was reformulated. The result was unsurpassed quality, nutrition, and taste -- the best food ever for your best dog ever!

  • Quality, locally sourced ingredients - nothing from China
  • Real whole foods - no poultry by-products

Both of my girls have been eating Merrick Grain Free Real Chicken and Sweet Potato for quite some time now, and both absolutely love it.

While I chose the recipe to meet Sophie's food allergy needs, it's been a nice fit for Penny as well. The Grain Free formulas were designed to support overall health for all life stages and breeds, so it doesn't matter if you have a couch-potato senior, or a super active adolescent. The nutritional content meets both of their needs.

The all-natural, grain free recipe provides quality protein, as well as farm-fresh fruits and vegetables. Deboned chicken is the first ingredient, and helps comprise the 70% of meat sourced ingredients that help build and maintain lean, healthy muscle. The 30% fresh produce rounds out the grain free diet with sweet potatoes, peas, apples, and blueberries, offering vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Plus, Merrick includes industry-leading levels of Omega 6 and Omega 3 fatty acids to promote a healthy skin and coat, as well as powerful levels of glucosamine and chondroitin for healthy hips and joints.

My girls love the taste, while I love the quality nutrition they are getting. That means Merrick Grain Free hit a homerun at our house! Plus, we use their canned recipes as a mix-in at dinner time for all three dogs (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner is a current favorite), and they all love the entire treat line. I suppose that means Merrick should be considered a grand-slam?

No matter what you call it, my Best Dogs Ever are happy with their Best Food Ever... and now you have a chance to win some for your favorite pup!

We often use Merrick canned as a topper. Duck would be our first choice. My dogs love the Merrick foods that they've tried so far.

Currently, no, I don't feed my dog Merrick. However, I've heard tons of great things about the brand and the foods that they carry. Would probably want chicken for my 7 year old golden retriever, Gavan Riley.

no i dont currently feed Merrick dog food, however, i do use the canned food every now and then, like when my youngest gets picky or when the girls have dental treatments. i also use the Merrick treats, the beef lungs and lamb lungs. the girls love these. for the food i would choose the Grain Free Real Salmon + Sweet Potato Recipe, of the Rabbit or the venison. i would prefer the freeze dried. i feed my girls a combo of kibble and raw now.

My dogs do not currently eat Merrick but I am interested in having them try it. I have a very picky eater and one who will eat anything. I need to find something that is healthy that they both will enjoy.

No, I currently don't feed Merrick food to my dogs but I do feed them their treats. I'd love to try the rabbit formula.

My dogs do very well on any grain-free kibble, I love that there's so many alternatives to corn, including sweet potato. It's great that Merrick has so many different flavors, I like to mix up the proteins for my dogs to keep them guessing. I've never actually tried them on Merrick, I'm sure they'd love to try it!

Lindsay Pevny said...

Oh, and I'd love to see what they think of duck!

We can't enter but good luck everyone. We know the name of Merrick by reputation here in New Zealand. Quality food is always in demand by pet owners and this IS quality!

I don't know much about the Merrick brand - but their ingredients look healthy and I like that none are sourced in China or overseas. It's so important to know what our pets are eating.

My two love Merrick, especially their wet food! I think they'd be partial to the duck recipe; although, I'm sure there are a few others they'd enjoy from that list too!

I don't currently feed Merrick, but we have had it as part of our rotational diet for a few days here and there before. I think what we would love to try is the Duck or Venison, because the more variety in protein, the better.

Yes we feed Merrick to grain free dry, Merrick canned and treats to both our dog and cat. They LOVE MERRICK! They have the healthiest, shiniest, silkiest coats!!! The Grain free Rabbit would be our go to. We like to mix the flavors so they never get bored!!!

My dogs love Merrick canned foods! I give it to them occasionally mixed in their dry food. They eat with SloBowls so dry food works better but they love the canned food treat! I'd love to try the Rabbit - that's one we haven't tried yet! Thanks!
