Happy Sunday! The humans traveled to Northern Maine for a race yesterday, which equaled a very long day and a really late night. So... it's a lazy, kick-back Sunday here. Lola is pretty content with that...

Thanks to our friend Goose, we learned today is Wear Your Sunglasses Day in doggy blogland.  I thought Lola might play, but no dice.  But that's okay, because Mr. Model was all for it...

Excuse us as we're driving through again today.  It's hot here in New England and we don't like it one bit (esp Mama)!  Zeus finally talked his Daddy into putting the air conditioner in the bedroom today (read: I think the extra loud panting got to him), so hopefully that means we'll all get a better night's sleep.  Although as I type this, we're under a severe thunderstorm warning.  Oh joy...

There hasn't been much mischief going on today, everyone is too hot to care.  I thought instead I would share with you some outtakes from our recent photo shoot for the PAWW Pick Pocket Leash.  Yes, outtakes... because every review photo shoot includes a least a dozen or two!

If you've been reading my blog for awhile, you already know that I love della Q bags!  Pretty and functional, della Q bags are not only great for toting around your current WIP, but they make fabulous gift bags for those FO's as well!

I was recently given the opportunity to review the Rosemary bag in it's newest colorway/pattern, Candy Spree.  This small project bag is truly one-of-a-kind, as each one is handmade in Vietnam.  But this bag isn't just good looking, it's for a good cause as well!  A portion of each purchase goes towards training low-income and rural Vietnamese women in the art of quilting. 

Rosemary is a cute rounded-off cube shaped bag that measures 8" tall by 6" wide by 6" depth.  The 7" drop handles are perfect for hanging from your arm as you knit or crochet away on a pair of socks or fingerless mitts.  A toggle closure helps to keep your yarn ball from falling out, however the bag does not close completely.  The extra front pocket holds small notions like stitch markers, fold-up scissors and darning needles.     

Currently available in 6 colorways, Rosemary retails for $32.  She's the perfect accessory to your summer wardrobe and can double as a little evening bag when not housing a knitting  or crochet project.  

I adore everything about my Rosemary bag.  The size is perfect for a small one-skein project.  The drop handles make it convenient to hang from my wrist so that I may stand up and walk around while knitting in public.  The Candy Spree fabric is bright and cheery, and I just can't help but smile every time I pick it up.  I love all things handmade, so knowing this bag was put together by human hands and not some machine makes the higher-than-normal cost for a small project bag well worth it. The fact that it also supports training for low-income women is just icing on the cake.

Race Dogs

Happy Thursday!  It's a busy day at the Lapdog household, so please excuse the drive-by post.  I wanted to remind everyone to check out the Rachael Ray Nutrish Zero Grain review and giveaway!  We think this is an excellent choice for a grain free kibble and you can win a 6lb bag to try if you enter by midnight tonight!

Today is a a race day in our house, so the humans will be heading off shortly.  Lola wants to go, but sadly this track does not allow dogs (the nerve!).  She thinks if she closes her eyes and can't see anyone, they won't be able to see her either... but I'm not so sure that will work. 

Can't blame a girl for trying, right?  She just wants to support her Daddy...

And maybe visit with her former foster baby Belle, who's Daddy also races.

Miss Belle thinks that if she winks, both her & Lola might be able to sneak in the track tonight...

Sorry girls, but this track even checks inside the trailers, so there's no hiding you black beauties.  We'll have to have a little reunion at another race.

REVIEW: PAWW Pick Pocket Leash

The Lapdog household was first introduced to PAWW products a year ago when we reviewed their Pick Pocket Pouch and Treat Toob.  We adored both of these innovative products, so when we were given the opportunity to review another item from their line, the Pick Pocket Leash, we gladly accepted.  

With four dogs, I'm always up for trying new leashes!  They seem to be one of those things that you can never have enough of.  I have leashes stashed all over the house, in all of our cars, in our doggy travel bags and in places leashes should not be.  Some might even say this Crazy Dog Lady has a little bit of leash problem like she has a yarn problem... 

The five foot long Pick Pocket Leash features PAWW's signature poop bag holder & dispenser, plus a second pocket to hold a few essentials, like a house key, some dollar bills or treats.  It is literally a leash with a built in Pick Pocket Pouch.  A utility loop has been added to the front, along with three additional webbed utility loops along the back, allowing you to clip on a small light, carabiner clip, etc. 

The Pick Pocket Leash handle features a buckle which allows you to quickly turn your leash into a tether at any time, without having to unclip it from your dog's collar.  Whether you're at the beach, a bbq or out shopping, you can easily tether your dog to a pole or chair and free up your hands for eating or paying the bill (warning: if said dog is large or hyper, tethering to the chair you're sitting in at the family bbq while your Dad bribes his grandpuppy with a hot dog might not be the best idea).  This style of handle is a little awkward and takes some getting used to, but once you do get used to it, you're good to go.... for a walk!

We were recently invited to review Rachael Ray Nutrish Zero Grain Turkey & Potato Recipe dog food and jumped at the opportunity!  As a concerned dog Mama, I am always reading labels and trying to find the best options for our family.  With 2 of the 4 Lapdogs on a grain free diet, I was very interested in learning more about this variety of Nutrish. 

Rachael Ray worked with a team of pet nutrition experts to create Nutrish, a line of pet foods made with simple, natural ingredients. Zero Grain, Rachael's first grain-free food for dogs, is natural and easily digestible.  It's also easily accessible, as you can find Nutrish almost anywhere you shop for your family's groceries!  That means you no longer have to make a special trip to the pet food store or order online to get a high quality, grain free kibble for your pack! 

As the name implies, Zero Grain is completely free of grains.  Additionally, it is free of glutens, fillers, by-products, artificial preservatives, colors and flavors.  No junk here!
