TGIF... and boy do I mean that this week! It's been one heck of a doozy. I had planned a nice review and giveaway to correspond with Fiber Arts Friday, however since time got away from me, how about some Friday Fill-Ins instead? (Stay tuned for the good stuff next week!)
1. I was looking for a nice rock to crawl under earlier this week.
2. Catching up with friends over coffee/lunch is one of my favorite ways to socialize.
3. I looked at the clock and could not believe it was really time to get up and start my day already.
4. Roller-glide or gel ink is the type of pen I most prefer to use.
5. What in the world happened to politeness, customer service and being rewarded for your loyalty?
6. Tripping over things, including my own 2 feet, seems to happen to me often.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to shipping up to Boston with the Dropkick Murphys, tomorrow my plans include catching up and Sunday, I want to cook a fabulous corned beef & cabbage dinner!
Happy Thankful Thursday! Lola had another 2-week check up with Dr. C on Tuesday night and I am very thankful to say it was a good one!
Watching the girls behind the desk at the V-E-T
Since we knocked her prednisone dosage down to 10mg/twice a day, she has shown great improvement! While she still slips a little here and there, and has some trouble climbing up on the couches (the bed is still out of the question for her without assistance), she is acting more like her 'ole self everyday. And, she gained another pound!
Waiting for Dr. C in the exam room
Sure, a 2 pound weight gain over 4 weeks doesn't sound like a lot, but we'll take it! She just looks so much better! Dr. C wants to keep Lola on the 10mg/twice a day dosage until mid-April, which is when we'll check back in with her. She had decreased her to this dose sooner than she would have liked, but Lola is just one of those dogs who did not do well on high doses. So, the idea is to stay on this dose for a longer period of time before decreasing down again. Her lumps have not returned -- knock on wood -- so all is good at the moment
Zeus tagged along on Tuesday night to have blood drawn for his 3-month liver level check up. We haven't gotten the results back yet, but I'm hopeful we'll have more to be thankful for later today...
In honor of St. Patty's Day, it's time to see a little green! Today's Ten on Tuesday topic is 10 Favorite Things That are Green.
1. Money. Not to be materialistic, but hey... money makes the world go 'round, right? And it keeps the bill collectors at bay, the dogs fed, and the humans clothed.
2. Anything St. Patty's Day related. I am part Irish, after all!
3. Green Veggies. I like most of them... peas, broccoli, asparagus, cabbage, celery, etc.
4. Grass. Hopefully we'll get to see it soon. The snow is melting and everything is just a muddy mess right now.
5. Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream.
6. Basil. I grew a ridiculous amount as part of my container garden last year. It was wonderful being able to just run out and pick it fresh for salads and teas.
PetFlow.com selected the winner through the Rafflecopter widget, and the winner is Brenda L! Congratulations! Please get us your snail mail address asap so they can get your prize to you.
Stay tuned for more reviews and giveaways coming soon, including Go Dog Dragons, Knitter's Pride notions, Brew Buddies dog treats, Biggan Design yarn, and more!
As much as we tried to make it stay away, Monday crept up once again. We're still lobbying for weekends to be a minimum of 3 days... wanna join us? After all, the Lapdogs would like the humans to be home causing some mischief with them today.
The mischief you are about to see actually happened last Thursday evening, as we celebrated Zeus' 12th birthday.
This is what 12 looks like -- quite handsome, don't ya think?
As always, we had doggy cake! This one is gingerbread flavor from Woof It Down...
There was a lot of mischief taste testing going on while I was trying to snap a few "nice" photos...
Eventually we got the cake cut and everyone enjoyed a quarter! Then it was time for presents! Zeus also got a new bone...
And a couple of toys (BarkBox peeps, shhhh... don't tell Zeus his new toys really came in February's goody box)...
My big guy was one happy 12 year old by the end of the evening... even if his siblings did steal his new bone!
We'll leave you with one of my favorite "a boy & his cake" shots, despite the missing "p" which Zeus has already licked off by this point...
