No Socks For Lilly

Please excuse the drive-by post on this rainy Tuesday.  I had planned a review, however the weather is not cooperating for a Lapdog photo shoot.  So instead, I thought I'd post a public service announcement and share that May 8 is "No Socks Day."  Yes, I'm serious (google it)!  Unfortunately, with the rain and chilly air today, it is a sock day for me.... how about you?

Speaking of public service announcements, I wanted to share this absolutely amazing story of Lilly, an extremely brave and loyal pit bull.  Many of you know I have a special place in my heart for pitties and we all know they only end up in the news when something bad happens.  Pitties are some of the most loyal, caring, loving dogs around and Lilly is truly a hero who deserves to be recognized.  Would you do me - and Lilly - a favor?  Pass along her story of bravery and love... and send her good healing vibes as she has a long recovery journey ahead of her.

I'm going to paste the beginning of the article here, but please click the link to finish reading... and please, pass it on.  Lilly's remarkable story needs to be heard!

Pit Bull Struck by Freight Train While Pulling Owner Away from Tracks

BOSTON, May 8, 2012 – Just after midnight on May 3 the engineer of a westward-bound freight train witnessed an extraordinary scene as he barreled toward a railway crossing in Shirley, Mass.—a dog was frantically pulling an unconscious woman away from the tracks. The engineer made every attempt to stop the train but was unable to avoid striking 8-year-old Pit Bull Lilly before she could clear herself from the train’s wheels.
