#ASPCA Documentary #SecondChanceDogs is now available on Netflix + GIVEAWAY

The ASPCA documentary, Second Chance Dogs is now available on Netflix!

Dachshunds graduate from ASPCA rehab center

Second Chance Dogs takes viewers behind-the-scenes at the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center and follows the stories of six extremely fearful dogs who were rescued from a life of cruelty and given a second chance for a happy, loving life.

Disclosure: The ASPCA is providing a copy of Second Chance Dogs to Lapdog Creations, free of charge, in exchange for me helping to spread the word about the documentary release on Netflix. We only share information that we feel is relevant to our readers, and all opinions expressed are our own. ASPCA is responsible for the giveaway prize. This post may contain Amazon affiliate links. If you click on one and make a purchase, I may receive a few pennies to help maintain this blog.

The documentary, which originally aired on Animal Planet in the Spring of 2016, introduces us to several dogs over the course of six months, including dachshunds and Alaskan malamutes. Watch as they learn to be handled by humans, walk on a leash, engage in play, and, quite frankly, learn what love is all about.

What is the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center?

Launched in March 2013, the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center located in Madison, New Jersey, is the first and only facility dedicated to rehabilitating dogs suffering from severe fear due to puppy mills, hoarding, and other cruelty.

Dogs who are admitted to the center undergo an intensive rehabilitation regimen with the ultimate goal of improving their well-being and helping them become suitable for adoption. Graduates of the program are transferred to ASPCA-partner shelters for placement.

Since opening in 2013, the center has worked with more than 300 dogs from various backgrounds, many of whom have already been adopted across the country.
“Dogs who come through our Rehab Center have experienced so much pain and suffering at the hands of humans, and they've never had a chance to live their lives as pets. By implementing behavior treatments based on sound scientific principles, we’re able to help the vast majority of these dogs overcome their fears and become comfortable with normal pet activities.” - Kristen Collins, senior director of ASPCA Anti-Cruelty Behavior Rehabilitation

You can see the amazing work the center does in Second Chance Dogs, now available on Netflix.

Second Chance Dogs was directed, shot, and edited by Kenn Bell, an animal welfare advocate and freelance filmmaker. You may recall his Hero Dogs of 9/11 documentary which aired on Animal Planet.
