Winter Classic part 3

Now, for the conclusion of the Winter Classic photo-heavy posts... the game!

The Bruins tied up the game late in the third period...

Denis Leary and Lenny Clarke came out to lead Fenway Faithful in the singing of "Sweet Caroline."

We couldn't have asked for a better game... and ending! The Bruins won 2 - 1 in Overtime!

Nothing like fireworks over Fenway to end a cold day...

What a great game experience...

For those of you who asked "was it cold?," the answer is YES. Layers were key! Here are the "before" and "after" self-portrait shots to give you an idea...

After the game was over, the NHL did a ceremony announcing the USA Olympic Men's hockey team. Congratulations to our own Timmy Thomas!!!

Although I already posted it, I will again since I did spend $25 for it ... the "official" photo. Cool, huh?

Winter Classic part 1

After all was said and one, I'm left with 141 photos from the Winter Classic game! Facebook friends can find a bunch there, but I did promise to blog some, so here is part 1...

We actually had quite a good view of the rink from our seats (like racing, higher was better in this case). These were taken pre-game...

Baby its COLD outside

Happy 2010! Brrr... it sure has been a snowy and chilly weekend! One of my Christmas presents is being installed today... an automatic starter for my SUV! Woo Hoo (thanks honey)!!! Now, of course, this either means I'm going to be a very happy camper for the rest of the winter (well as happy as I can be to not have to go outside to start the car) or it means its going to warm up fast.... I'm leaning towards being a somewhat happy camper.

The Winter Classic game was awesome!!!! COLD, but such an awesome experience... and my B's won in overtime, which made it even cooler. I need to download all of the pictures I took, but in the meantime here is the "official" Winter Classic photo...

As for knitting, I finished off the last Christmas gift but still have to take photos of it (and wrap it... and hopefully deliver it this weekend). There hasn't been a whole lot of knitting going on lately, so here is a pic of my Trekking to Charlotte socks, which I wore on Christmas...

My Mom, who has knit and crochet for as long as I can remember, made her first pair of socks... and gave them to me!

The leg is crochet, foot is knit... cool, no? Thanks Mom! They're a little on the small side for me, but I'll still wear them for sure. I just had to remind her that my feet are bigger than hers...

Thanks again to my honey for the automatic starter... I think Tut thanks him too... he sure does hate a cold car!

Fenway Gets Icey

Its beginning to look alot like... a Winter Classic in Beantown!

The game is still 2 weeks away, but the rink is in... and the promotion for the New Year's Day game is underway...

I just hope the weather is a bit warmer in two weeks than it is today... please... that's my Christmas wish! That and I'd love to actually skate on the rink...

If you read regularly, you know that I'm a Boston girl and I love my Bruins. Well, I'm SO excited to be able to say that I just scored two seats to the NHL Winter Classic at Fenway on New Year's Day!!! woo hoo!!!!!!!!

Today is my Friday at work (so another woo hoo!) ... tomorrow I'm headed into Beantown to see Lenny Kravitz and Friday I'll be heading to Stitches East... anyone else going? I will plan to keep up with regular weekly blogging during my stay-cation... enjoy the rest of your week!
