Wellness CORE Turkey Lovers #ChewyInfluencer

They say variety is the spice of life and the Lapdogs couldn't agree more... especially when it comes to their food toppers.

We've actually been using canned food as a dinner mix-in for far longer than the term "food topper" has been the latest marketing craze.

I like using soft food, as it allows me to give them some proteins and nutrients that may not be in their kibble. They like getting canned toppers because they're tasty.

Disclosure: The Lapdogs are Chewy Influencers and received a Wellness CORE Turkey Lovers Variety Pack, free of charge, in exchange for spreading the word about the product and Chewy. We only share information that we feel is relevant to our readers. All opinions expressed are our own.

The Lapdogs got to try a new (to them) tasty topper this month, thanks to our friends at Chewy who sent us the Wellness CORE Grain-Free Turkey Lovers Variety Pack.
"Wellness is one of the most talked about natural pet food brands online. They use deboned meats, wholesome grains, and fresh fruits and vegetables to provide the perfect balance of protein, energy, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants." - Chewy
I love that Chewy is offering a couple of Wellness variety packs. Instead of the typical 12-can case of the same recipe, you get 18 cans of either two or three different recipes!

The CORE Turkey Lover's Variety Pack that we received features two recipes:
  • Turkey, Chicken Liver & Turkey Liver
    • First 7 Ingredients: Chicken, Turkey, Chicken Liver, Chicken Broth, Chicken Meal, Turkey Liver, Sweet Potatoes
  • Turkey, Pork Liver & Duck
    • First 5 Ingredients: Turkey, Pork Liver, Turkey Broth, Duck, Chicken Meal

The Wellness CORE line is a big on protein and flavor - two things the Lapdogs love!
"CORE's nutritional philosophy is rooted in the belief that pets love and thrive on hearty animal proteins." - Wellness Pet Food
Both of the nutrient-rich recipes are 100% grain-free and gluten-free, making them a good choice for dogs with food allergies. I love that the ingredients literally read like a perfect fall comfort food stew.

Key Benefits
  • 18-can variety pack features two turkey-focused recipes
  • Made with real turkey, pork liver, duck, chicken, and turkey liver
  • Grain-free, Gluten-free
  • Fortified with important vitamins and minerals
  • Complete & balanced nutrition for all breeds

CORE recipes are highly palatable, so if you have a fussy eater or need to get some unpleasant medicine into your dog, these canned recipes would also be great for that. My turkey-loving Lapdogs think both recipes are delicious, and would happily devour entire cans if I let them.

They think your dogs will drool over Wellness CORE just as much as they did, and wanted you to know that you don't even have to get dressed and leave the house to get some. With just a few clicks, you can order some from our friends Chewy and in just a couple of days, a box of deliciousness will arrive on your doorstep!

Wellness CORE looks like it is an excellent topper! We also mix wet and dry and our dog loves it. I bet he'd love this one too.

Wellness CORE but I am still happy cooking for Madam :)

Wait, I've been using wet food as toppers since I got a dog... Yes, I do the same thing. My dog is very picky so a variety pack would work best to mix up the flavours. Now he's getting dry kibble, topped with Vet prescribed wet food then sprinkled with toppers so he eats it. Yup, he's that spoiled, and picky.

I've never heard the term food topper until now. Interesting! I always read dog food labels, and I'm impressed with the ingredients you listed. Seems like a product worth looking into. Thanks for sharing this!

Kilo loves having canned foods or raw boost or homemade "toppers" on his kibble. We love the Wellness options too- so yummy and healthy. You are right- they are like fall stew for dogs. I am about due to get some more.

We prefer kibble, with sort of the raw powdery topper on it, the freeze dried raw, but canned is good too

Our cats ahve some Wellness in their diet and we tried Dusty on the cat CORE which he enjoyed.

We use a topper on our foods that is made here in NZ but I will keep an eye open for Wellness toppers - I love the idea of a special treat on the top!

I've have read a lot of great things about Wellness CORE. I'm sure my dogs would think having a food topper would be awesome. They love their kibble, but ignorance may be bliss for them!

Thanks for the review. I like to suggest kibble feeders to add canned food, stir, and stuff into hollow toys, freeze and instant pacifier to keep a dog busy. I love Chewy.com and order ever few weeks from them.

The dogs all love it but I'm impressed that it's easy to mix in even after being refrigerated. Whatever makes dinner time a little easier is appreciated.

I always mix wet food with kibble in order to get more well rounded nutrition and extra moisture. Wellness has been getting a lot of buzz lately!

I no longer have dogs, but I do have a bunch of cats. I also mix hard and soft food together. I've always done that for my cats and dogs too. Thanks for the post. This looks like a great topper.

The cats enjoy Wellness food and it was one of the brands we fed before switching to raw. Now it's a rare treat, or to tempt a cat who is feeling unwell.

My mom's dog is being picky with his prescription food, so she's adding some canned food as a topper to encourage him to eat it.

We love Wellness products.
