Midway with Tylee's 30 Day Challenge #ChewyInfluencer

It's no secret - all dog food is not created equal when it comes to nutritional value. Fortunately, as pet parents demand better, quality ingredients without any fillers, by-products, or artificial stuff, we have seen an increase in high-quality, affordable food.

Thanks to Tylee's, feeding your dog real, whole foods has never been so easy or affordable (don't miss the buy 1, get 1 free coupon code at the end of our post)!

Disclosure: The Lapdogs are Chewy Influencers and received a bag of Tylee's dog food, free of charge, in exchange for spreading the word about the product and Chewy. We only share information that we feel is relevant to our readers. All opinions expressed are our own.

It's time for our midway check-in on the 30 Day Challenge with Tylee's and Chewy. As mentioned in our first post, I have decided to use it as a topper with all three of my dogs.

While I'm pretty confident they would love to chow down on Tylee's exclusively, using it as a topper is the best option for us as all three are currently on different kibble formulas for various reasons. Plus, they love getting their "special" mix-in at dinner time and I can't think of anything more special than human-grade, whole foods.

Tylee's is a frozen, fully cooked, grain-free food that truly makes healthy mealtimes easy. It arrives packed in dry ice from Chewy, so all you need to do is toss it in the freezer until you're ready to use it.

To use, simple take out the portion you need and defrost it in your fridge overnight. Toss the resealable Tylee's bag back into your freezer and you're good to go.

The food will last for 10 days in your fridge once defrosted, allowing you to defrost several portions at once. However, if you forget to take it out the night before, you can also defrost some in the microwave (instructions are on the bag).

Since we are using it as a dinner topper, I placed just a few cups in a ziplock bag and defrosted it in the fridge. It got us through about three nights of meals.

Sure, it's easy to feed and store, but the real question is what the taste-testers thought...

The Lapdogs officially give Tylee's Turkey Recipe all paws up... way, way up!

They gobbled down their dinner the first night, and on the second night they all lined up as soon as they saw me take the ziplock bag out of the fridge (they don't miss a clue when it comes to food). I knew it looked delicious, but when they started wagging their tails a little more while waiting for dinner, I knew for sure.

If I didn't know better, I'd say it looks like an amazing ground turkey mixture that the humans would enjoy over rice. I love seeing the big pieces of cranberries, zucchini, spinach and sweet potato.

Key Benefits
  • Made in the USA with human-grade ingredients
  • Single source of protein - great for dogs with food sensitivities
  • Grain-free with no fillers or by-product meals
  • All of the benefits of a homemade meal without any of the prep time
  • Easy to serve - simply defrost and add to your dog's bowl
  • Minimally processed ingredients
  • Chia seeds, ground flaxseed and sunflower oil provide Omega-3 and 6 fatty acids for skin and coat health

I, like many pet parents I know, would love to make my dogs' food at home, but that's just not realistic right now. For those of us who are simply too busy - or don't have a degree in pet nutrition - Tylee's is an excellent option.

Stay tuned for our final recap on our 30 Day Challenge. In the meantime, you can find all four Tylee's recipes at Chewy where 1-2 day shipping is always free on orders over $49! Plus, for a limited time, Buy 1, Get 1 Free with code TYLEES at check out!

This is the first I'm hearing of this brand. It certainly sounds like it couldn't be more convenient. Delivered to your door, kept in the freezer for ready use, and home cooked without cooking. Red is now on a whole foods home cooked diet, but unfortunately I have to do the cooking!! Thankfully it's freezable so I do it in batches, but this is something that seems worth considering. +

We had never heard of this brand, either, but it looks and sounds yummy! We're glad it works well for you and that you enjoy it.

This looks like a good alternative for those who don't have time to home cook. The time is what keeps me from doing that for my fur kids.

This sounds like a wonderful solution to those who don't have the time to add in home-cooked meals for themselves much less their dogs. I too give my dogs kibble with toppers, whether fresh spinach and other vegetables or cooked meats. I had never heard of this brand before but love that they include flax and chia seeds, which I love to give my dogs. It's so heartening to see this movement away from grain-filled food for animals.

I really like it that it's made in the USA. I don't trust food products from certain countries, and you can't always tell by the label. ~ Dear Mishu

I could see this being an interesting option when traveling on a road trip but we will always go fresh first.

I've never heard of Tylee's before, but it sounds awesome! We feed our dogs a partially raw diet because we believe in the benefits of whole foods and balanced nutrition. I bet your dogs are loving their new meal topper!

Sounds like your 30 day challenge is going well so far. Tylees makes it easy as a pet parent to portion out a little bit at a time and the defrost option couldn't be easier. Good luck! Sounds like a winner.

This is the first I've heard of this brand. Using something new as a meal topper is a great way to get our pets to eat it. I'm not feeding raw at the time, but every time I read a new post, I seriously consider it.

I read your first post and am definitely intrigued by this food. I'm glad everyone is enjoying it. Love all the ingredients. Sounds like it would make a great topper for another food as well.

I've never heard of the brand but agree it looks very convenient to use. And by the sound of your dogs it tastes really good too! I just tried changing my girls' food and it's a lot of work now that they are on two different foods. So not sure I would be able to add another step in their meals. But this is something to remember if I do!

Boy Chewy sure gets some great products to try. I had not heard of this brand but it looks wonderful. Convenient, healthy and tasty and made in US. I wonder if it is available in Canada.
