I will go out of my way to get the right products in order for my dogs to be both healthy and happy, however when a little convenience comes along, I'll gladly take it. So when I heard about a company making both natural grooming products and nutritionally superior treats, I had to learn more.

That company is Isle of Dogs, the place where every dog shines.
"Real beauty goes beyond fluff. Isle of Dogs combines superior grooming products with premium natural treats and supplements to promote wellness and beauty from within. Our proprietary line of canine health and beauty products, sourced and made in the USA, supports a beautifully balanced and joyful life. With a rich heritage in competitive dog shows, we know what makes dogs shine." - Isle of DogsIsle of Dogs was founded in 2004 when owner Becky Rao, who was showing her champion Brittanys, faced the challenge of finding a product that would cleanse her dogs' coats without damaging them. Becky learned of a concoction mixed up by a local groomer for a terrier who had lost 90% of her hair due to a skin disorder. The special mixture had a nearly bald dog fully covered in soft, shiny fur in just five weeks time.
Becky incorporated this mixture, which contained primrose oil and royal jelly, into her show dogs' regimen and their healthy coats quickly gained praise on the professional dog show circuit. Becky and her husband, Kailas Rao, saw the potential and Isle of Dogs was born.
Today, Isle of Dogs' focus is on both inner wellness and outer beauty. The company's unique approach to beauty from the inside out is on par with today's trends in the human health and beauty industries. Simply put, what you put in - and on - your dogs effects their lifestyle.
The entire Isle of Dogs line is sourced and made in the USA using natural ingredients. Their proprietary formulas and conscientious manufacturing processes ensure their products stand apart from the competition.
We were able to try four products from the growing Isle of Dogs line - two treats and two grooming items. It's safe to say the Lapdogs preferred the treats, but their Mama was equally impressed with the grooming items.
Daily Essentials dog treats
The latest addition to the Isle of Dogs treat line, Daily Essentials are crunchy, 100% natural, pumpkin-based, gluten free, whole food treats designed to deliver the healthy nutrients dogs need.
Using a very simple recipe that includes only grains, fruits, vegetables and herbs, Daily Essentials are free of gluten, dairy, wheat, meat, added salt, corn, added sugar and soy - which makes them a perfect choice for so many dogs who suffer from food allergies and sensitives.
Daily Essentials are available in four varieties - Healthy Skin & Shiny Coat, Puppy Growth & Brain Development, Cleans Teeth & Freshens Breath, and Hip, Joint & Bone Health.
The Lapdogs tested the Cleans Teeth & Freshens Breath variety. Featuring apples, parsley and peppermint, they had no idea these treats were helping to brush their teeth and fight bad breath. All three happily gobbled up the round, mini-waffles and promptly asked for more.
Soft & Chewy dog treats
Formulated to support overall health and wellbeing, Soft & Chewy treats are thick, juicy heart-shaped morsels full of nutrient-rich ingredients to support overall health and well-being.
These semi-moist, vegetarian treats are low calorie, but high flavor, making them a great choice for rewarding during training sessions. Although Sophie prefers to skip the training and get right to the treating.
Soft & Chewy treats are available in six varieties - Training, Joint, Power, Skin, Health, and Chillout.
We tried the Skin treats, which feature flaxseed and kiwi fruit to help condition, moisturize and improve overall skin health. Cherries and apples were added to enhance the sweetness, and boy did the Lapdogs love these! I know I'm repeating myself by saying they asked for seconds, but it's true. Teutul even tried to pretend he never got firsts.
After we took care of the Lapdogs' Inner Wellness, it was time to test out some Outer Beauty products. Sophie and Teutul have both dealt with skin issues in the past, and Penny has been a little itchy during this bad seasonal allergy season (seriously, has it been as bad near you as it has near us - it's been months since I've had a sneeze-free day), so I was anxious to try some of the grooming products that Isle of Dogs is so well known for.
The Couture Collection features a 3-step, customizable system (shampoo, conditioner, grooming spray) which has been designed to work with dogs' coats and appropriate pH. The line features 9 shampoos, 5 conditioners, and 2 coat supplements, allowing owners to choose the combination of products for their dog based on coat type, skin issues and desired style.
I opted to test Isle of Dogs Coature No. 62 Evening Primrose Oil Dog Conditioning Mist for dry or Sensitive Skin, 8.4 oz. When I read that this oil-rich spray soothes dry skin by hydrating the cells responsible for oil balance, I immediately wanted to try it on Penny.
In addition to soothing skin, the Conditioning Mist also helps to alleviate flakes and add shine to dull and itchy coats, as well as to freshen coats, cover odors and extend time between regular baths.
The first thing I noticed about the Conditioning Mist was the human-salon-like packaging. The second thing was the wonderful, human-high-end-salon-product-like smell. It's a very fresh, light scent that even my nose-working Penny seemed to enjoy - which makes using it on her a breeze. You simply spray it on and then brush their coat.
And guess what? With just a few applications, I've already noticed less "seasonal itching," which is exactly what I was hoping for! I've also used the spray on Teutul and
While her coat is still super-puppy-shiny, I know from experience with our previous Doberman mix that their short hair can easily lead to dry skin and flakes, especially in the winter months. I'm excited to be armed with an easy-to-apply conditioning spray that will help alleviate that.
Everyday NaturaLuxury Collection Odor-Neutralizing Sprays
The Everyday NaturaLuxury Collection features gentle sulfate and paraben-free shampoos and conditioners. Designed for high quality performance, this line features modern fragrances that will leave both the humans and dogs feeling sensational.
I opted to try one of the Odor-Neutralizing Sprays, which can be used on your dog, as well as throughout your home. The sprays, called Repláscents, were designed to replace odors with a subtle fragrance and offer an alterative to perfume and home sprays, which are not safe for direct application on your dog's coat.
Repláscents are currently available in 5 fresh scents. I chose Isle of Dogs Odor Neutralizing Spray, 8 Fluid Ounce, Red Berries and Champagne, which is very light, fruity, pleasant scent that I'm comfortable spraying throughout my home.
I love that I can spray Repláscents directly onto my dogs coat, as well as on their bedding the couch, and even in the car. It's truly one of the best multi-use products that I have used, and it will certainly be a staple in the Lapdog household.
The Lapdogs and their Mom give Isle of Dogs all paws up! I love the company's beauty from the inside out approach, and the fact that not only is everything sourced and made in the USA, but I feel confident in using their products. They love the tasty treats, and were happy with the nice-smelling conditioning sprays (especially if it means less baths).
How would you like to try these same four Isle of Dogs products with your dog(s)?

We've tried the berries and champagne shampoo and I was well pleased with it. When I go thru the site, I gravitate to the treats designed for joint health. With aging dogs I'm always looking for ways to ease the achy joints.
The odor neutralizing mist really caught my attention, mostly because I have two dogs who LOVE water and thus ALWAYS smell like wet dog.
The Evening Primrose conditioning mist. We don't give a lot of baths around here, so having something like this to use in between them would be great. Both of our short haired dogs get dandruff sometimes and it sounds like this would really help their skin.
What a great group of products!

The Daily Essentials treats caught my eye because they only contain the delicious ingredients needed to live a healthy life every day.
Sugar Cane + Grapefruit Repláscent would be great for my little stinkers.
The power soft chew treats with peanut butter and sweet potato. It looks like one of the few treats one of my dogs could eat.
I LOVE treats with natural ingredients! I wish I could enter the giveaway! I haven't tried any of these products before, but I'm not US based :(! I really want to try the neutralizing mist!!
Magic could care less about the ingredients as long as they taste/smell good. I'm more careful, though. *s*
The Conditioning Mist looks like it would be perfect for my dog's allergy related skin issues!
The Triple Strength Primrose shampoo caught my eye, because right now, Koira is super itchy from a bug bite that is hanging around. And being itchy from that is making her rub in the grass, which she is allergic to, which makes her more itchy. Anything to help control the crazy cycle of itchies.
What a gorgeous dog! Thanks for sharing.
Considering our continuing battle with Bean's allergies, I'm most interested in the shampoos designed to assist with itching and dry skin. This is a very cool company. I will have to check them out down the road!
I hear good things about their shampoo line but I always forget that they make treats too.
I guess this is what you would call a Win/Win.....and possibly a win? I love the concept. Thanks for sharing.
I like the idea of the odour neutralising mist - what a great idea. Red berries and champagne sounds like it would smell wonderful...
Glad to hear the conditioning mist is helping with the seasonal itching.
While my dogs would prefer treats, I'm more interested in finding a gentle shampoo that might give Nelly some relief from her allergies and resulting hot spots.
The daily dose as I am always afraid Layla is not getting a balanced meal
OMD, Ma says I SO needs this! SHE says I stinks, butts I say I don't. Unfortunately, she's the boss (so she thinks, butt she's got the thumbs, hence, the 'boss'...), so she says I needs a bath, butts with my funky ear, I can't gets it wet, so I 'stinks'. Whatevs. So SHE says she could use the spray stuffs to make me smell good to the peeps!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
I like the holistic approach - not just 'one thing' or 'the other' but inner care and grooming care working paw in paw. Having poducts that are locally sourced is a great idea (we can't make everything here in NZ so I check which other countries are the source). A small company focused on premium quality deserves to succeed. Thanks for spotlighting a fine product!
my dog breeder loves their shampoos, i live their Training Soft & Chewy Dog Treat - Featuring Apples & Calcium. i like the freeze dried but i did not see any on the site.
What a nice product line! My dogs could use the mini waffles, they often having stinky breath, LOL! Thanks for sharing.
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
We would love to win this as a gift for our doggie cousin. This was a great review!
I know of Isle of Dogs because my friend swears by their Jasmine & Vanilla Shampoo. The edible treat ingredients are premium and I know that pumpkin is a great and natural addition to a dog's diet for GI health. Their company philosophy makes perfect sense. Human health and vitality starts from the inside out. I'd love to try out these items!
I had not heard of this brand. The coco clean sensitive shampoo sounds perfect for my chi. Also loving all the treats with no gluten, wheat or meat!
The daily essentials healthy skin and coat is something I'd definitely want to try! The fact that it has cranberry in it is what stood out because Parker is prone to UTIs and that would help.
I'd love to try the Joint Nutri-Stix Dog Treats - Featuring Chicken, Glucosamine & Chondroitin on my seniors. I can't get them to eat their joint supplements and I bet this treat form they would love :)
The daily essentials hip, joint, and bone health treats caught my eye for my old man puppy. As he's a bigger dog and getting older, I'm more concerned with the aches and pains that come with that!
I would like to try the vanilla shampoo
I would love to try the Joint treats, both baked and chewy! We just took our bulldog to the vet because she is limping and found out she has bad hips and the beginning of arthritis. Love that they are all natural & made in the USA!
I saw the Lush Coating Shampoo and I think it would be really good for Pumpkin(hound mix) and for the aussie I will be getting in November
I like Lush Coating Shampoo because it makes the dog's coat feel plush.
We're about the natural, holistic approach!
The soft and chewy joint treats look great!
Ooh, the joint treats look good. My dog is getting up there in years so I always try to give her treats that might help preserve her mobility.
