A Penny in A Box

Excuse us while we're still playing a little bit of catch up (I promise there are reviews - and giveaways - coming soon), but Penny is puppies are exhausting for humans and senior dogs!

If you hadn't guessed already, Penny loves toys.  She has plenty of her very own, but she's also helped us all to rediscover every. single. toy. in our house.  Mind you, the Lapdogs have accumulated many toys over the years... 3 big baskets worth, maybe 4.  Sure, I know I should weed through them, but tossing out one of your dogs' toys is a little emotional.  They might not want it now, but what happens when they go looking for that particular toy next month?

Don't judge... I know you have the same problem.

Of course, this means we have toys everywhere.  You can't take 2 steps in our living room without stepping on 3 toys (some of which are not kind to bare feet, while others squeak louder than a squealing piglet).  As I find myself routinely picking up 4 or 5 as I walk across the room, I secretly wonder if Penny is the dog who I can train to put the toys back in the baskets.  She's certainly mastered taking them out... every. single. one. of them.

I thought I'd try it out with a storage cube, which I turned on it's side.  Maybe if Penny sees Mama tossing toys in there, she'll start copying me.

Just another Saturday morning, hanging out in my toy box... #puppygram #instapuppy #puppiesofinstagram #rescuedpuppiesofinstagram #dobermanmix #dobiemix #puppylove #dogtoys #APuppyAndHerToys #adoptdontshop

Well... so much for that idea.  When she's not removing the toys as fast as I can toss them in the box, she's doing this...

Well, at least she's putting something in the box, right?  That's a start. I have hope...

Ok, you can stop laughing...

What kind of mischief are your kids getting into?

Girlfriend, I can definitely relate. Just posted my third entry penned: Diary of a Middle Aged Puppy Mom. Puppies are exhausting and draining for us and our senior dogs, but we would have any other way would we? Have a great week!

I always feel a little guilty when throwing toys away. I could never throw Haley's favorite toy away though, it's just like the monkey toy that Penny has!

She is such an adorable puppy. Toys are key, keep her busy! Kongs are great too.

Of course the box is for her. Why else would you have let the toys show her how safe the box is? She is a darling.

She's starting to lose that puppy look and is looking more like a young dog. It's great for her but a sad time for Mama.

I've only had one dog that put toys back in the box, Bentley. He learned it by himself but it was a great trick.
