Loving Pets Dolce Diner: Fit For a Princess... or Two

Disclosure: Loving Pets sent a Dolce Diner to Lapdog Creations, free of charge for review purposes. I was not compensated for this review and all opinions expressed are my own.

Thanks to Loving Pets, raised dishes are not only functional, but pretty as well!

Long time readers may remember that we reviewed a few items from Loving Pets in the past, including the Milano Bowl. While I absolutely loved the bowl in so many ways - especially the removable inner bowl and adorable "Bad to the Bone" design - it didn't quite fit a need at the time and went into storage after our review. Then Penny came along and claimed it as her own - a perfect fit.

This time around, Loving Pets sent us an Osso Dolce Diner to check out.

Like the Milano Bowl that Penny loves as much as I do, all Dolce dishes feature removable, bacteria resistant stainless steel bowls in plastic bases. This concept really caught my eye before and I kept thinking to myself, why don't more companies make their pet bowls like this? Loving Pets really hit the nail on the head with this design.

Having a plastic base not only provides traction thanks to the skid-free rubber feet, it also ensures a quieter, spill-free dining experience. Plus, it allows your pet to eat her meal from a pretty bowl instead of a plain 'ole stainless steel one.

The Dolce Diner features not one, but two bowls which allow your pet to have her food and water together. It also provides the option for two pals to share mealtime together.
note: while I think this concept is great for multi-small-pet households, I know it wouldn't work for real in ours... but Sophie and Penny sure did enjoy working together on this review!

Clean up is a breeze with Dolce bowls.  Simply remove the stainless steel inner bowl for hand washing, or toss it in the dishwasher.  The plastic base is also dishwasher safe, however you will need to remove the rubber feet first.

On the style front, I adore the purple translucent bone-shaped base.  The Osso Dolce Diner is also available in aqua, and there are several other Dolce Diner styles available as well.

Penny knows the benefits of the Dolce Diner - do you? The dishwasher safe elevated feeding dishes are durable and dishwasher safe! ©LapdogCreations #LapdogCreations #LovingPets

The only thing "missing," or rather what I wish Dolce Diner had, is a taller base.

Despite being Lapdogs, my kids are not exactly small. All of their dishes are elevated, but only Sophie currently uses an actual raised bowl/feeder. Penny and Teutul eat off of make-shift risers (a little DIY and upcylcing going on). So, I would really love to see Loving Pets add taller diners to their line - 8" or 12" would be ideal for us, but I know many who could use even taller risers.

We highly recommend Dolce Diner for smaller dogs, or any that require just a slight raise of their bowls.

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, Penny eats from the Loving Pets Milano Bowl and I couldn't be happier with how easy it is to clean.  If you have a larger dog or don't need a raised feeder, definitely check the Milano line out. While we're partial to the "Bad to the Bone" design, there are several adorable designs to chose from.

The 2 girls eating side by side are precious! We always fed our mastiffs from the biggest stainless steel mixing bowl, and when they were grown, we nested the bowl right in a 5 gallon bucket. Not pretty, but it was the right height. Jeff's dog Tank has to eat from one of those bowls with the obstacles in it, because he gobbles his food too fast otherwise and makes himself sick. It doesn't work well with elevation. And it's not as cute as a purple bone bowl.

I like how colorful it is and the fun dog bone shape. Not sure I believe the no spill. Max will find a way! ~RascalandRocco
