Weruva Caloric Harmony #ChewyInfluencer

High quality ingredients = good fuel for a happy, healthy dog.

It's not rocket science.

Just like humans, it's important to watch our dog's calorie, fat, and carbohydrate intake. And, just like humans, all dogs are not created equal therefore not all dogs require they same caloric intake.

Disclosure: The Lapdogs are Chewy Influencers and received a bag of Weruva Caloric Harmony dry dog food, free of charge, in exchange for spreading the word about the product and Chewy. We only share information that we feel is relevant to our readers. All opinions expressed are our own.

I'm always reading labels and learning about new dog foods, so when Chewy gave us the chance to try Weruva's brand new line, I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity. After all, the Lapdogs have been drooling over the Weruva canned recipes for years.

Calories come from three places: Protein, Fat and Carbohydrates.
Which should provide the majority of your dog's nutrition?

Weruva has developed two new dry dog foods - Caloric Harmony and Caloric Melody. Protein provides the majority of your dog's calories in both formulas, however Harmony is 80% animal-based protein, while Melody is 70% animal-based protein.

Melody provides comparable nutrition at a lower price point, however both formulas have received Dog Food Advisor's top rating of 5-stars!

We opted to try the Caloric Harmony Chicken Dinner with Pumpkin and all three of the Lapdogs absolutely loved it!

Features & Benefits
  • 80% protein from animal sources
  • Cage-free, deboned chicken is the #1 ingredient
  • Free of grains, wheat, potatoes and corn
  • Limited carbohydrates
  • Heart Healthy
  • Pumpkin to support healthy gut motility and stool quality
  • Natural fats and oils for healthy skin and soft, shiny coat
  • Low glycemic index for energy that lasts
  • Super-Prebiotic Organic Seaweed increases digestibility of nutrients
  • No artificial flavors or preservatives

As soon as I opened the bag, three noses appeared and waited in line for the official taste test. I chose the chicken and pumpkin recipe because I knew it was something all three of them could have, and figured all three would like.

I was right.  All three dogs gobbled up their sample and politely asked for more.

Caloric Harmony is a great choice for dogs who may have sensitive digestive tracks. The carnivore friendly formulas fuel hungry pups with low glycemic ingredients, ensuring they will feel fuller longer. And, as the Lapdogs have pointed out, it tastes fantastic so even the finickiest of eaters are sure to love it!

With three dogs on two different types of food due to protein sources and fat content, it's nice to have something that all three of them could share. While we won't be making the switch to Weruva Caloric Harmony as our main food, I'm glad my dogs got to try it and I know it's there if we do ever have to switch. In the meantime, we will continue to use Weruva canned recipes as one of our rotational dinner time mix-ins.

Do you think you dog might love Weruva Caloric Harmony kibble? You can order it, as well as the rest of the Weruva dog and cat food lines, at Chewy where 1-2 day shipping is always free on orders over $49.

Lola and Bailey think it's delicious and they weren't quite so polite about asking for more.

We met the Weruva people at Blogpaws. They are the most focused and genuine people.

Isn't it great you have something that all of them can share, not 'one needs this and you can't have it' which would be a downer for ny pup! Sharing rocks :-)

It is always good to have a backup plan for pet food in case your first choice is unavailable for some reason. I have read a lot of great things about Weruva as a company. I like they are environmentally friendly too.

We love Weruva products. If the dog food is as good as the cat food, we know it was good.

Mr. N likes their canned food. I was not... brave enough to try it myself at Blogpaws.

We have never tried this brand - I know, it's hard to believe! Your write up is great info and will help us make decisions the next time we purchase our pup's treats (they are raw fed for their main meals - but we do augment)!

Quality dog food is so important! Some brands use meat from rendering and that's just not healthy for our pooches! Your dogs are so lucky to try those tasty nibbles :D! Haha, the official taste-test is thé most important :D!!

Weruva is a good brand - we have tried some of their canned cat products previously although our cats all eat a raw diet now.

We have tried the wet and the chicken and pumpkin sounds excellent- will have to keep an eye out. Kilo loves taste testing new brands and I like the less fattening healthy options for him.

I think my dogs would enjoy this food, especially the chicken & pumpkin. They love pumpkin - Phoebe really needs the extra fiber, I add pumpkin to her food daily.
