Apparently, we're stylish!

Happy FRIDAY everyone!  Bring on the long weekend!

We received the "Stylish Blogger Award" yesterday from Leroy and Sherman... what an honor!  A big thank you to you furbabies... and your Mom too!  We now need to share 7 things about us that you may not know, as well as award 7 other blogs that we think are stylish.  So here it goes...

1. Zeus is going to hit the double digits in a couple weeks... he'll be 10 on March 7.

Lola2. Lola greets us at the door with a toy in her mouth every time we come home.

Teutul_babyFootball 3. Teutul is named after The Teutul family from "American Chopper" / OCC.  I originally wanted to call him Brady (after Tom, we got him on Superbowl Sunday), but that was vetoed.  Then I wanted to call him Mikey and Matt said "how about Mikey Teutul?"  Teutul stuck, Tut for short... and King Tut for his nickname.  He's the only dog we actually named.  Zeus came from friends already named, Lola from the local Humane Society already named and Sophie was originally "Scuff" when she came to us for fostering.  I immediately suggested changing her name to Maggie, but there was already a Maggie on the rescue site, so they picked Sophie.

SophieBall4. Sophie has quite the overbite... a birth defect we assume (she was born a stray on the streets).

5. Tut was our first ever foster - and we "failed." Sophie was our last "failed foster" - she decided she was staying with us.  We fostered many in between who are now in their loving forever homes.

6. Zeus weighed a mere 16 pounds when we first brought him home, at 7 weeks.  At his annual vet visit yesterday, he weighed in at 116 pounds.  At his heaviest, he was 145 pounds.... we're all quite happy with his slimmer figure.

babyZeus7. Zeus, Lola and Tut are pretty good actors.  They can all "die" on command ("bang") for a treat.  After Zeus' TPLO surgery, he learned that limping got him lots of attention and will sometimes show that acting skill off.  Sophie's best trick is looking at you with those big eyes and whacking you with her paw when she wants attention (and I do mean whack!).

And now, we pass this award on to 7 friends.... in no particular order and in now way did I mean to leave anyone out.  I'm passing this along to several friends who are all within the same blog circle and will need others to pass it along to as well...

Doggy Bloggy Award

How cool is this? Gaylen presented me with this awesome Dog Lover Blog award earlier this week. Thank you G!

dogloverblog08

There are no rules associated with this little reward and the only requirement (according to Gaylen... and I second that) is that you love dogs - especially your own, and you share your blog with them. Since Gaylen already awarded this to both Chan and The Princess, I'll take the liberty of passing the award on to five more amazing women... drumroll... in no particular order, Criquette, Natalie, Bernie, Dianne and Paula. I think that leaves plenty more of my fellow dog loving bloggers for everyone else to tag...

Another Award

On this black Monday, I find that I've been given this award from both Grace and Ally...

youmakemydayaward

Thank you ladies, you make my day too! As do many fellow bloggers, so I'm just going to give it to everyone reading this post... if you have not yet received this already, please consider this one yours too! As always, thank you for reading my blog and making my day!

I've also been tagged for that "7 things" meme a few times in the past couple of weeks and haven't had time to repost it, but I did remember I got this last May, so please excuse my laziness please see this old post.

I'm going back to my mourning now... Here we go Bruins, here we go ... and maybe Tony could win Daytona for me?

Another Award...

Wow, its like the Emmys this week! I just found out that Rhonda over at I'm Running to Win Two gave me the You Rock the Crib and Loveable Blog awards!

LovebleBlog

Thank you Rhonda... its so nice to be loved! Now, I'm passing this Loveable Blog award on to all the same ladies I passed the You Rock one on to yesterday.... as well as to anyone else reading my blog!

I now return you to your regularly scheduled Dogs on Thursday (see today's earlier post)... and wanted to ask you to please visit the Best Friends Animal Society website. They've been doing lots of wonderful things for animals who would more often than not, be put down otherwise. They have a special dog area called Dog Town and actually have an awesome documentary show on National Geographic channel now as well. If you're a dog lover/parent and have not seen this show yet, you must check it out! It is on Friday nights at 9pm and then usually repeats over the weekend. Amazing reality tv... although I will admit to having tears rolling down my eyes at the end of the episode from last weekend when one of the volunteers was seeing Wiggles, a cute little bulldog, off to his new forever home. Having fostered so many wonderful babies this past year, I could totally relate and feel all of the same emotions (love, joy, pain, heartbreak, satisfaction....) that volunteer was feeling....

Rockin The Crib

While perusing my Bloglines today, I discovered that Natalie at Bark 'n Knit gave me an award! Looky here...

napaward

Now, you know me and my wandering inquisitive mind had to go and Google "nap warden" to discover the origin of said award. I found it here.

So... now its my turn to unleash the Nap Warden Award on some of my fellow blogging friends. I hereby declare the following as official Crib Rockers (in no particular order)... insert drumroll here

Kare of More Coffee Please (aka Old Lady Kay) ~ One funny lady who often has be ROFLMAO with her posts!

Dianne of Brit Knitter ~ Another wonderful knitting doggy Mom. Creative, talented and one amazing spoiler to boot!

Emily of Yarn Miracle ~ She hosted the first ever Dishrag Tag... enough said! (Oh yea, and she does have a little miracle on the way as well)

Chan of Chan Knits ~ Quite possibly my seperated-at-birth-long-lost-twin. We share a great love of animals and fiber.

I kept my list short & sweet, but please know that if you are reading this, You Rock and you deserve the award too! I just didn't want to turn my post in to a blogroll book. I think anyone who takes the time to read my blog rocks (and thank you for coming back)!!

I'm a Rockin' Girl

Well yes, that is true... I've always been a rock chic, but today Grace bestowed the honor of Rockin' Girl Blogger upon me. Thanks Grace! This means I put this pretty little button on my blog...

rockin_girl_blogger

It looks like this fun, little pink award was started in June here. Now, I get to tag a few friends to pass the pinkness along to! (in no particular order and if I don't tag you, its probably because you've already been tagged or someone else that I'm tagging will no doubt tag you!)

1. Kare - I love this woman! Read her blog... you will too!

2. Gina - well, she is a rockin' girl, a great blogger with a fun podcast and because she loves pink!

3. Channon - we've recently discovered that we must be long lost twins... knitting, dogs, NASCAR... what more could you ask for in a friend?

4. Silfret - a journalist who knits... great commentary & editorials galore!

5. Mary Beth - she knits, she crochets, she writes a book about knitting terms... and oh yea, she's addicted to alpaca!

So girls... you're rockin' now too! Pass it along....
