Last month, we received an invitation to participate in an exclusive, VIP community of dog lovers called the Purina Dog Chow Family Points Program. I'll admit, we do not feed Dog Chow to the Lapdogs (however most of the foster pups who come through our house are on Puppy Chow), so I didn't think this program was fitting for us. After emailing the public relations person back to find out if there was a Purina product they were looking for us to review (no, that was not their intention), I learned more about the program. What it is not is a shopping rewards program... It is a place to bring together a community of dog lovers who take pride in publicly celebrating the special connection between dogs and their families. And, a place where you will be rewarded for doing just that.
Well, I certainly like to celebrate all things dog, so I decided to give the program a shot. It's been fun and enriching, as I've been sharing different stories, videos and links from the program on Twitter, Facebook, etc. I've even uploaded some of the Lapdogs' original content!
By sharing and submitting content on DogChowFamilies.com, the program rewards community members with points. Once certain point levels are reached, fun rewards are “unlocked,” such as Purina Dog Chow brand merchandise and product coupons. So far, we have received a very useful (and refillable) poop bag pouch that clips to your belt loop or the leash, coupons for Dog Chow, bandannas (although, sadly they are too small for the Lapdogs), leashes and bowls that cleverly double as food scoops! I love how the folks who run the program pay special attention to it's members as well, as they sent us four each of the bandannas, leashes and bowls!
Sound like fun? How would you like to join the community? Contact me directly or leave a comment here (making sure I have a way to contact you) and the Lapdogs will hook you up with the appropriate public relations person! You'll soon be on your way to earning some fun rewards. Tut especially thinks you should sign up because, after all, the rewards come in his color... can't you tell?
