You may recall the two teamed up for Crochet One-Skein Wonders three years ago.  This time they're giving us, Crochet One-Skein Wonders for Babies.

The eighth addition to the One-Skein Wonders series, Crochet One-Skein Wonders for Babies features some of the cutest patterns yet.  From socks that will be tucked away and saved for Mom to show off to future dates - to cozy hats to keep precious heads warm - to cherished blankets that will become family heirlooms, you'll find them all in this one book.

The 101 patterns, contributed by designers from all over the world, are conveniently divided up into eight chapters:
  1. Little Hats &Caps
  2. Little Socks & Bootees
  3. Little Tops & Dresses
  4. Little Bottoms
  5. Little Bibs & Washcloths
  6. Little Toys
  7. Little Blankets & Sacks
  8. Little Bags & Accessories
Some of my personal favorites:
  • Snowflakes Hat - an adorable trapper style hat adorned with embroidered snowflakes
  • Mommy & Me Leg Warmers - because new Moms love to be pampered too
  • Floral Lace Cardigan - sure to become a hand-me-down for all the little girls in the family, this pretty cardi fits 18-24 month olds
  • Kitty Kat Lovey - what's better than a security blanket? one with a stuffed animal in the middle
  • Zip, Snap and Button It! - this activity book looks like it's just as fun to create as it is to play with
  • Zucchini Sleep Sack and Cap - as featured on cover, it's simply just too cute not to crochet one, or two... or three
  • Dad's Diaper Bag - because new Dads need to be pampered too

While I personally do not crochet, I am a knitter and can attest to the fact that baby items are some of my most favorite things to make. Part instant gratification, part ability to splurge a little on some fancy yarn (and not break the bank), they're just fun to make and give.  I suspect my crochet sisters feel the same way and I know you will return to Crochet One-Skein Wonders for Babies again and again - just as I do with my copy of the knit version.

If you are familiar with the One-Skein Wonders series, you already know about the fabulous, full-color photos which accompany each pattern, as well as the easy-to-follow charts.  The patterns are suitable for all skill levels, so whether you're looking to learn a new skill or for a quick weekend project, you'll find it in Crochet One-Skein Wonders for Babies.

Grab yourself a copy of Crochet One-Skein Wonders for Babies (or better yet, enter for a chance to win a copy below) and a couple of hooks, then pick out a few of those single skeins lingering in your stash, and you'll soon be on your way to creating some beautiful pieces that any new Mom is sure to cherish.

I bought a used book like this, but can't decipher the abbreviations. Some days go better than others. If I won, I'd try again...baby Madeline is only the first granddaughter, I'm sure!

Oh, and I forgot to say that I make baby blankets for everyone I know!

Baby blankets! I'm terrible at following directions, so blankets are my go to and easy, so I guess it makes it my favorite thing to make! ;)
