The temp fluctuated between -8 and -14 on my drive to work (no, no I didn't take more pics while driving... sorry). That's 14 below zero people! bbbrrrr. Where or where did my lovely fall weather go??!!
What to wear on a day like today? Lots of layers, of course! I used this opportunity to finally pull out the FREE handknit sweater I got at the Knit & Crochet Show this past summer. We went on the last day of the show, when TKGA was giving away their samples and I was a lucky to have been chosen to pick something to take home. I tried to find the pattern in back issues of Cast On, but was never successful.... so I'm not sure if this design never made the cut or what.
I'm not sure who knit this little diddy (yarn held double throughout), or what the yarn is (I'm guessing an acrylic blend) but thank you. See the fun wooden toggle buttons? The thoughtful knitter sewed an extra one on the inside bottom cuff. Its pretty heavy... which means nice & warm... the sleeves are much too long for
I just love the expression on Lola's face! She's looking at the camera on the table, which of course is set on automatic ... "Mommy, what the hell is that thing doing snapping on its own??!!"
Speaking of the furbabies, I think I'm going to pimp Zeus out more often! He winked at Chan yesterday and lookie here at what was in our mailbox this morning...
YUM-O treats for the whole family! She sent some My Doggy Bites for the kids and some decedant sounding Dark Chocolate Merlot Drops for the humans, which she picked up when we were without power for 9 days, thinking they'd sure to warm the heart... mmm, hmmm... they sure will! We all can't wait to dig in to our treats tonight - thank you Chan!
Speaking of Chan... we've decided to KAL the Action Vest. The bitter temps seemed like a good time to start on what should be a quick, bulky vest. I've got my materials all together and ready to go...
Being a little un-original, I'm using the called for Action by NY Yarns and I Chan is using Schaefer Elaine, which I can't wait to see how that turns out because I have a skein that is project-less at the moment.
Well, lunch is near over so I'll leave you with the usual Friday Fill-Ins...
1. Enough with the damn snow & bitter cold!
2. My multi-tasking mind sometimes causes me to be conflicted.
3. I've been craving comfort food... lots & lots of comfort food.
4. My goofball pack (Zeus, Lola, Tut & Sophie) makes me laugh.
5. I wish I could go to didn't have to go to work next week.... making for an "at home" vacation of sorts.
6. Life has been on my mind lately.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to staying in, watching Ghost Whisperer, tomorrow my plans include knitting... and maybe stitch marker making and Sunday, I want to do nothing, but we have tickets for the Metallica show!

That is damn cold. And I was getting ready to complain about the 4 degrees I woke up to here (Southern Indiana) this am.
